the new Restaurant Paiko in Stadtlohn serves the real greek food. Next to what is 'normal' in many greek restaurants in germany (plates with meat, nice but almost the same everywhere), Paiko offers delicate dishes you rarely see and experience. For example the octopus starter or the seafood pasta main dish are a real treat you hardly find elsewhere.

The Korfu restaurant in Gescher is a very cosy and likeable restaurant, located opposite the Rathaus. On arrival, you are welcomed with a shot of 'ouzo', an aniseed flavored appetizer. The menu is highly diverse, and created with particular attention to details. My favorite dish was the Sandorini platter, which consists of a serving of 3 large shrimp and a trout. The restaurant also has a very good collection of wines (including Greek wines), that go well with the different dishes on the menu. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxed evening dinner with no time pressures.

The food is a real greek experience, by that I mean they cook traditional greek food - like they latter said 'grandma's recipes'! As an starter we had the zucchinis & auberginen (fried courgette & eggplant). As a main I had a Grill-plate (I think it was the Bauernteller). Next time I will leave room for dessert like the Galaktoboureko... We can only recommend :-) Reasonnable 'german' prizing (not expensive).
