For the first time we visited the restaurant and we were very satisfied. The service is friendly, unobtrusive and very efficient. The meals are excellent and especially at lunchtime there is a special menu with offers, which have good value for money. In the city of Krefeld you have to search a long time to find a restaurant that is comparable in quality. We went with a party of 16 for an evening meal. Service was slow, very slow, some of the food was disappointing and others were satisfied. There was no atmosphere to speak of because the place was almost empty. As a group we were all disappointed and have crossed Diebels off our restaurant list. I have heard that their themed evenings are better but cannot comment on this.

After a visit with a group of German friends we decided to take our English guests out for a meal. The very traditional restaurant Handwerksklause suited our taste and we were greeted in a friendly manner and quickly had a drink in our hands. The menu was adequate for our needs and soon we were eating tasty meals. The atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and soon a few of the customers were practising their English. The meals were all enjoyed and with a steady supply of beer and wine the evening was very enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit. The small glass of medicine at the end was much appreciated.
