Just across the Rhine River from Dusseldorf, Neuss was founded by the Romans in 16 B.C., as the military colony of Novaesium, making it one of Germany's oldest Roman settlements. The town thrived in the Middle Ages, and in the late 15th century staved off the Siege of Neuss by Burgundian leader Charles the Bold. We had one of the best meals we have had in Germany at this restaurant. It is a hidden treasure tucked away in Neuss, just a short drive outside Düsseldorf. We happened on it as we were looking for a place to have an early dinner. It sits in the old wall on a square with a water fountain at the center of the square and tables arranged around the fountain under beautiful shade trees. The menu is very nice, the food is prepared superbly with fresh ingredients and the service was topnotch. The inside eating area is just as nice and looks very inviting. Don't miss dining here if you pass through Neuss.

So coming to Dusseldorf for easter, we didn't realise that most restaurants would close down. We were therefore very happy to walk past this one. Really great space, though the easter bunny statues in the garden were rather unsettling! The food and service weren't thankfully. My pasta in truffle cream with shavings of parmesean and truffle was fantastic. Partner's pizza was tasty and covered in good ham... So a great find and would definitely go back.

We had our first date there and came back for my boyfriend's birthday. They arranged our table in a very nice way, organized a cake for us and the owner was super friendly and welcoming. Nice tasty food of high quality, we really enjoyed our time there and we will definetely come back! Recommended for a romantic dinner

Wieder optimal. Tunfisch Carpaccio mit tollem Dressing, dazu kl. gem. Salat mit frischem Kräuterdressing. Kalbskotellet mit frischen Pilzen und Tagliatelle( natürlich selbstgemacht). Sehr gut, wie immer.
...standard italian fare is served here at slightly elevated prices, atmosphere is strange and doesnât feel hospitable. Service is in the hands of amateurs, visa and mc are displayed at the door but apparently youâd have to spend one hundred bucks to pay by cc, such silliness can only be found in italian restaurants. Spend your money somewhere else.

Food was very authentic & tasty. Service was excellent. The reason I gave 4 stars is because the portions were too big. Sad to see food being wasted for no reason. For more photo please check google. Thank you

We have been here at least ten times, and the experience has not been consistent at all. We have had everything from motivated, friendly servers to disinterested, slow staff. The food is lovely and interesting, but also pricey. While I enjoy the industrial vibe of this restaurant, it is very LOUD when it is full, to the point that you have a hard time understanding the people at your own table. I assume that is one of the side effects of the sparse rooms with high ceilings. Not the best for a date night or business dinner. Parking can be harder to find than you would expect from a restaurant in the middle of nowhere. The last time we went to Bohai, it was for the unplugged evening. We invited friends along and the entire experience was extremely disappointing. We waited hours for tiny portions and didn't feel like the unplugged theme was executed well, especially for our seating area in the area closer to the kitchen. If this place would be more consistent, we would start going back to celebrate our events. As it is, we are too unsure about the quality that awaits us to do so.Thx Nicole for your comments,I agree that consistent is one of the key points, a long term restaurant has to fullfill. We trying hard to get that, but it is difficult to find the RRight people. I beleave we do better in that and are happy to have a consistent Chef in Franz since 8 months, what makes life easier. The same is the Service Team, I´m sure we get more consistent in the team now as well.I would be more than happy, when you give me a wave next time you´re around. We will run a new menu from 16th August, that might be a good point to have a look and welcome our new team captain Karl in the restaurant.thx again for your open thoughts!
