We were staying in Xanten and decided to eat here one night. The meals were well presented, well priced and very tasty indeed. The service was excellent too. As it was a very warm evening we sat outside and took in the atmosphere of the beautiful square. However, I had to go inside to use the facilities and it looked like a very atmospheric establishment on the inside too. I would go back if I was ever in Xanten again.
Small restaurant in the heart of the city center of Xanten.

Looking for a break during our short trip to Xanten we found this little restaurant with fabulous terrace and River Rhine view. Meanwhile it is the place to cross the Rhine by ferry or to take the boat for a trip along Rees and Emmerich. It is allowed to take the bicycle on this boat so perfectly for a boat-bicycle trip through an interesting region, nature, little cosy towns/villages with many little good restaurants, terraces and Romain history. We ordered a Japanese green tea 4/5, a fresh prune cake 5/5, a lemon cake 5/5, a lunch plate salad, french crinkle fries, chicken nuggets 4/5. Very friendly service and fabulous look over the Rhine and its boat traffic 5/5. We will come back.

Just a few steps away from the historical city centre, you find a Restaurant with German cusine , which is particulary poular. The food is exclusively prepared with fresh ingredients, such as home-made Spätzle (Swabian noodels) or particular meat. Xantene
On my recent Germany visit I made a stop in Xanten. We went for breakfast to Xantener Stuben Restaurant. It was first class. There was absolut nothing missing on the buffet. The spread was wonderful and everything tasted fantastic. The price was more then reasonable and it even included champagne. The owner is super nice and makes everybody feel welcome. I wanna go back to Germany just for the food at Xantener Stuben. I will definitely be back and will make reservations the next time I go with the family. I can't wait. Thank you Xantener Stuben for making this Germany trip a culinary highlight.

When we first arrived it seemed to be a combination of local club and social hub. The private dining room is at the rear. It is a little rustic but with old school crisp linen and extremely welcoming. The locals were keen to extoll the virtues of the cuisine and very helpful in assisting us with desciphering the menu. On the night we visited, the local Karnival Komittee were in session next door. Along with many trophies and pennants declaring "Xantener Blut Wurst Kommitte 1972", you get the feeling that this is a local hub. The food is very well cooked. My vegetables were perfectly al dente. The wine list is almost exclusively white but these are the best German wines. Very good.

We have just been back to Landhaus Koepp, again it was a remarkable night - not exactly cheap, rather expensive, BUT you definitely get the best value for your money, each and every bite you take is worth the money you are going to spend. The chef creates the most unusual meals, combines ingrediants in ways we had not heard of before. If you bring enough time - everything is absolutely fresh - you are in for an unsual night. Everything is exquite: the atmoshere, the service, food, and drink.

You find this lovely beergarden on the other side of the old mill. There you get good food and perfect drinks (also: special beer)

We were here on a very wet and cold januari tuesday. It was quite crowded, but in the nice way letting you think you made the right choice. Good and speedy service. We had the potato soup and the pumpkin soup, both very nice, the red cabbage roulade and the steak. The price was nice too...this restaurant deserves a top spot in Tripadvisor!
