This bar offers a great choice of beers and spirits. Kautzenbräu is my favorite beer to get here in Wuppertal. In the back you can get board and card games, you can also play tabletop soccer and darts here. They frequently have live music here.

This is an excellent place to take friends visiting Wuppertal: the layout is nothing I've seen before: it looks like real town, reflecting different landscapes along the Danube. You can book yourself into a cave, a windmill or any of the cosy living rooms or terraces... Unfortunately the food is pretty average: the usual german / eastern european fare, which tastes better in other restaurants.

Lovely atmosphere in this somewhat difficult to find restaurant. We were taken there by two business colleagues and they eat there all the time. The set lunch for about â¬10 is very good value because this is a beautifully decorated and has a pleasant ambience.Quite clearly when you walk in almost everybody knows everybody and out of a dozen occupied tables it could've almost been one large family gathering! The service was very good and the only thing of notewas that the portions weren't very large and to make a meal of it I would really Needed 2 courses. Having said all that would I go again? Definitely yes! I am sure that there à la cart menu has some hidden treasures.

This converted swimming pool pub is well-located and accessible by the Sky Train. Getting a table didn't seem to be an issue although you may want to book for peak times. There are 2 floors, one of which overlooks the central seating area and a large TV screen (football). There is an English/Chinese menu available online as well as int he restaurant. The food is reasonably priced (44E for 4 people and drinks) and portion size is alright. It's typically German cuisine and there are an array of beers to drink too. I would come again but wouldn't have any dessert - it's limited.

This italian restaurant deserved my visit twice in 10 days, once with a friend, once with my husband, and is a big contender for one of the best in Wuppertal. The decor is nice and service attentive. They also have a good wine selection. The risotto with scampi is one of the best I ever had (3 out of 3 people who tried it were very impressed!) The pizza is definitely above Wuppertal average: excellent base and very tasty tomato sauce, great also with some milder topping such as parma ham and rucola. As starter, beware of the enormous roasted buffalo mozzarella in parma ham mantel: this actually comes on a huge bruschetta (quite oily but delicious) and is covered with roasted cherry tomatoes... you will struggle with anything else you ordered as a main. My husband ordered one of the daily specials, with a much more german flair (the 'Merano' = Süd-Tyrol side): some braised venison with red cabbage and veggies, he was also very happy. Just a little overpriced (11,50 Euros) the mixed starter Primavera for 2: nice, but nothing you couldn't buy in a decent supermarket. All in all, a great evening in both cases, we will certainly be back.

Been coming here for many years and it never disappoints. I've had everything here...breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and desserts. I have never left without feeling like it was a great experience. My most recent visit was for breakfast and the scrambled eggs were the best I have ever eaten. Don't know how they made them, but they were delicious. I also can highly recommend any of their lovely baked goods, as they are all top and make for a lovely treat after a nice meal. Enjoyable atmosphere, friendly staff, and interesting meal options with great flavor make this place my go-to restaurant in Wuppertal.

Business dinner in November 2015.Great meat, delicious food, good espresso.Slow service, but worth the wait.Very nice/old building!

This perhaps the most sophisticated restaurant in Wuppertal, quite different from the "pub style" or traditional ambiance that many other places have. No bratwurst here. After 3 visits I can say high quality is consistent. Limited but varied choices on the menu, with varying daily dishes. Best and freshest ingredients.Ample parking round the back, walking distance from Schwebebahn stops.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere: It is a lovely traditional German gastropub. The staff welcomes the guests friendly and serves them quickly. The food, which is not so expensive overall, is nothing special and cannot really impress.

Great ambience, beautifully renovated. We were served by a young lady Who did a great job. Instead of a starter for everybody, we ordered two plates, anti pasti to share among 7. Really delicious, typical Italian, aubergine, zucchini, mushrooms, prawns in milk aoli, olives ect.The pasta dishes were very good( large portions) and the dorade perfectly prepared. Unfortunately no room for desert. A great dry white wine, served well chilled. A most enjoyable evening, very friendly staff.
