The building where Haus Kortmann is established exists already for 500 years and a restaurant is operating there since 1909. The "Pantaleonstrasse" is a limited access street (residents only), but along the main road round the corner (Pienerstrasse) is a large car park (blue zone, two hour free parking; restriction ends at 18.00 hrs) As Haus Kortmann is open for dinner from 17.00 hrs, therefore parking is no problem. After a short walk along the cobble stoned Pantaleonstrasse you arrive at Haus Kortmann. Reception is cordial and polite; the ambiance is just right with the polished wooden tables. The menu has something for everybody, but schnitzels and steaks are the core business. The food is tasty and prices are moderate. Krombacher draft beer completes the feeling of well being. The next evening the decision was made quickly: Again to Haus Kortmann. A note of warning: Friday evening as well as Saturday evening the restaurant filled up with guests later in the evening. Making a reservation in the weekend seems to be prudent.

Regional cuisine. Westphalian recipes using the finest ingredients, all freshly cooked. Animal welfare is important to us! We support SLOW FOOD a long time. Try our bitter house beer or the wines from our own import. Beautiful bright meeting room for up t
Ate at the Grosser Kiepenkerl on a Saturday with a larger group. The service was very friendly and were helpful with specialty requests regarding food on and off the menu. The appetizers came quite fast so that the rather longer wait for the main course was tolerable (all tables were booked, so the kitchen was quite busy). The main course was brought out for all at the same time, which resulted in medium warm side dishes for some of us. However, the service responded professionally and brought out a selection of hot sides for all to share. The more traditional dishes were good, the venison dishes were variable. Overall, the experience was good for service, the food itself was ok, but not superb for my taste.

This place is on a lovely little street of restaurants and beer houses. The atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly. Good, reasonably priced wines can be drunk with your meal, even though it is a brewery. The food is good quality, simple German cooking which we enjoyed. The service is very efficient. Warmly recommended.

We (my 1. Lady and me) habe been there already for 3 times. In my opinion it is one of the leading Restaurants in Muenster. It got better from time to time. Everything was perfect - the service, the meals and the prices and - last but not least - the location.....Thank you for the positive rating for our restaurant. We are very pleased that you felt comfortable and enjoyed your meal. Hoping to see you again soonDas Kunsthaus Angelmodde Team

My family and I went there twice during my recent stay in Germany and we were not disappointed! The first time we all had a platter containing Germany's most wonderful delicacy, Westfalian ham, but I will critique our second meal first. It was hearty, well cooked, nicely presented and extremely tasty. The waiters are prompt (as prompt as they can be with a large and very full restaurant), friendly and the kitchen is a wonder to behold. Huge, shiny and clean! Now to the ham. I have had a lot of versions of Westfalian ham and I am an avid eater of the stuff, especially since I normally live in the USA and it is not available here, a considerable loss to the country. Gasthaus Stevertal's ham is beyond description and I do wish you could photograph taste. I can only say that it will bring tears of orgasmic joy to your tastebuds. It is just the right amount of dry, just the right thickness, just the right color and oh that taste. I can't wait for my next visit to Germany again. Westfalia is my favorite region and Gasthaus Stevertal is a must visit!!

One of the "must" places (along with its larger namesake neighbor) you have to eat at to experience Muensterland food and Gemuetlichkeit. Quiet, good food. Pleasant wait-staff. Try the local Altbierbowle (beer with syrup,..you won't know you're drinking beer). The Lachs (salmon) and Kruestchen Bratkartoffeln were great. About 20 euros per person.

This restaurant has far better food on offer than the brewery across the street. They sell that beer in Drubbelken anyways. Its a nice atmosphere with candles on the tables. Waitresses are very friendly We will go back for sure

We enjoyed our dinner here well enough, but were slightly disappointed by a number of the dishes. The pork was a little dry, and the homemade sausage was not very tasty - the blood sausage especially had a strange texture. However, sauerkraut and bratkartoffeln were both excellent. A good traditional German meal, nice atmosphere and excellent service, but not the greatest food we've had of its type.
