We visited on a quiet Thursday evening, the restaurant was almost empty and we almost carried on to find something a little more lively, but I am glad that we didn't.The service is very friendly, efficient and welcoming. We all opted for various steak dishes and none of us were disappointed, the 300g fillet steak was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection - the sides that we ordered alongside the mains were also very tasty. The salad buffet was free to use when ordering mains and looked and tasted fresh. There was also a good selection of drinks and local beers.Overall, a great meal and incredible value, coming in at just under £120 for 5 of us to drink and dine! We will definitely return!

Whilst I agree with most of the review of ChutzpahUK I must disagree with his description of the place being a "dive". La Petite Affaire is a small bistro which I have frequented on many occasions. The food is definitely French as is Houda, the wife of the Bistro owner. Mark, the owner speaks perfect English and is very accommodating. It is a wonderful place to relax with a glass of wine whilst listening to the atmospheric French music. Of course the menu is in German, after all it is in Germany. Definitely worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.

Suitbertus-Stuben, a cozy brewery restaurant in bavarian style located in a 1492 build half-timbered house
The Suitbertus-Stuben offers a very varied choice of traditional German cooking which is prepared to a high standard. Service is generally friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is friendly and comfortable. The building is one of the very few in Ratingen to have survived the ravages of the 30 Years War and well worth visiting in its own right.

This restaurant clearly has ambitions to be counted among the "fine dining" establishments in the greater Düsseldorf area. For example it took part in this year's "Tour de Menü" competition, although I don't know how well they scored. Our booking was for four people at 7 pm. The restaurant was about half full when we arrived. It took quite a while for us to be offered drinks. When we didn't choose to have the waiter's recommended pink Sekt, he seemed to lose interest in us & it took about 30 further minutes to get some water & some wine. The food was very good, however, when it came. The menu is not extensive, with about 5 or 6 dishes offered for each course. This would indicate that the choices are changed quite frequently. Prices seemed about right for this kind of high quality food. While she clearing dishes away, the waitress spilled some drops of oily salad sauce onto the clothing of a lady in our group. Although she apologized quite profusely, there was no offer of a free coffee or a digestif in compensation. To sum up, quite an enjoyable restaurant experience in most ways. Good food, but some room for growth in service to guests.

A couple of weeks ago I cycled passed it during a weekend exercise, decided to interupt for a draught JEVER, did the trick for me that day... and I still had a couple of miles to get home. The place is enchanted, so I wanted to return on romantic terms...and so I did. That's when eveything fell into place:Staff super sweet.Boulabaisse for late lunch...Walking the enchanted forrested creek valley deeply cut into the limestone reef.Moved into the magically crafted guest rooms behind the mill... the vast shower made from local river rocks!... handlayed wooden floors; the four-poster-bed... by now we are purring considering this detailed romantic setting. On we went to get us a rowing boat on the Ruhr river in Kettwig (brisk 15inuted drive)20h30 back for an asparagus combo... omg!The Kaiserstuhl Burgunder to go with it...Night fell and the firefies come out to leadus back to our guest room...... a quiet and restfull romantic night...before at 7nish we get up to birds songs, decide to walk the valley again.back just before staring the brunch buffet loaded with German typical and international delicatessen. We couldnt be more delighted. You need proof?! Well, we decided to acquire the bed and one of the pictures on the wall...The shower was not for sale ;-)

Located in the city center of Ratingen, this restaurant offers quite a variety of greek specialties. We enjoyed the warm feta cheese with salad and some appetizers, all really good and tasty, reminded me of Greece itself. It would have been nicer to have more space outside to enjoy the view.

Excellent food, helpful staff, clean and cosy surroundings. Very nice wine list of German and Austrian wines and a large selection of Obstler (fruit schnapps).
