Reviews on Central European food in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Dortmund has become a center of high-tech industry, but back in the day, it was one of Germany's first brewing centers, and Dortmunder beer is definitely worth tasting in a local bar. Visit the Reinoldkirche or the Marienkirche, or venture south of town to the ruins of Hohensyburg Castle. December is an especially festive time to visit Dortmund—one of Germany's biggest Christmas markets takes over the center of town.

Küchenchef Sebastian Felsing und sein kreatives Team verleihen dem Gewölbekeller des U-Turms immer wieder wechselnde Höhepunkte in Sachen Genuss und auÃergewöhnlicher Küche.
This was the second time I've visited the restaurant EMIL. It is situated in Dortmund right next to the Dortmund "U" in a cellar vault but also offers some nice tables outside with a direct view into the kitchen and their 800 degree celsius oven. They mainly serve steaks, and I can highly recommend the Wagyu steaks and also the Tomahawk steak. Prices are rather low compared to similar restaurants; will go there again some time soon.

Nice food and very pleasant service.. But... please stick to the true values of the Italian kitchen .. and don't let yourselves be influenced by German traditions.. White cabbage does not belong on a Saltimbocca à La romana.. :-)just replace them by the peas.. that were supposed to be there in the first place..

Centrally located at the " Old Market " in the heart of the city is our restaurant Pfefferkorns No. 1, On the market . 6 On this historic place you can relax not only in summer on our beautiful outdoor terrace , but also various festivities with the peak
The name suggested that they would have great steaks and we certianly tried the place. Setting is awesome, outside on the square you can relax and people watch all day. The interrior of the restaurant is gracoius, traditional and welcoming. Ordered a steak that the waiter reccomended and was very dissapointed in the quality of the meat and also being tough. Not once did the waiter return to the table to ask if we were happy. So I will not reccomend this place other than sitting and enjoying a beer or two whilst people watching.

There was once a farm here, but then came the industrial age, and the Zollern mineshaft was dug at this spot. This period also came and went, leaving an impressive industrial monument and, next to it, the old stable of the original farm. The place offers
This is a really interesting location (within an old & as museum restored 'Zeche') that offers drinks and snacks, but can as well be rented for bigger events like weddings etc. ... outdoor seating & kids playground are offered as well. The service, food and infrastructure for the event I've attended was just great. Staff was very attentive and helpful and everything (incl. the 'animated' part of the eve) went very smoothly and satisfying for everybody.

Visited here on an overnight stay in Dortmund. They cater for tourists by having English menus available. Price are a bit on the steep side but then again you get what you pay for. I had steak and couldnât fault any part of it. Service is prompt and waiters speak pretty good English too. I would definitely try some of the other items on my next visit.

We walked into this place and I recognized the name from TripAdvisor. We had a good dinner. And the location with room for the kids to play on the square is great!

The famous Hovel beer is available across most of the city and this it the restaurant of the brewery (I think?) and itâs about as German as it gets with great beers and a lovely menu. Had the Pork last time and that blew me away so this time the Snitzchel. Loads of tables, good service, very reasonably priced, busy in the middle of the afternoon and for good reason! Hello. thank you for your review. we are happy that you liked our Restaurant and you are welcome back anytime your in Dortmund again. All the best from the Hövels team.

Having been to Dortmund 3 times recently, this is always a place to met friends thanks mainly to the location being in the main square of the old town. Always busy and good service they are well adverse to dealing with large crowds. Good selection of specials for the beers
