It is nice combination of a bar and restaurant that a lot of the places in the 'Bermuda Triangle', the bar district of Bochum, don't really manage to pull off. You can go just for nice drink or a meal with friends and not have shout over the very loud music. The staff is usually quick but doesn't bother you. They specialize in crepes and galettes, which are both good and very filling. They offer many other great dishes as well.

Well the problem might be that i'm a chef myself. A head chef to be exact. So i might be a tricky customer. But non the less a fair one. After doing some research on tripadvisor i decided to check Baseburger out. I made reservations for 4 of us on a Sunday evening and off we went. The place was full when we arrived, so i already knew that the waiting time of about 40 minutes (for the main course) would be quite fair (i do work in the industry ;-)). The first thing i noticed was the fact that there weren't enough waiters for the amount of people dining. I could have lived with that. Two of us ordered cocktails and 2 of us lemonade... 10 minutes later came the lemonade... Another 10 my cocktail... And another 5 the last cocktail... Really?!? No need to mention that the ones who ordered lemonade were almost done when the last cocktail arrived... In between we managed to order food and i opted for 'son of the b...' (pulled pork/regular patty) burger. A friend of mine ordered a salad as an appetizer and a burger. Needless to say i was watching carefully what was happening around... 20 minutes after ordering the food my friend asked about the salad and got impolite 'it's coming' as an answer. So we waited... 40 minutes after placing an order we were approched by a waiter saying they were out of pulled pork!!! Meanwhile all the other burgers were surved AND the salad!!! So i had to decide ASAP what other burger i would take instead and got a promise it would be out very soon... The table next to us also got their appetizers with burgers and as all of them ordered nachos, they looked pretty stupid... Finally 50 minutes after ordering i got my burger... Unfortunatelly, the patty was lacking flavour, no salt, no pepper (and none was on the table), as did guacamole. The other service girl tried to bring away my cocktail when it was still half full, so i had to basically yell for her to stop... Then we decided to order a dessert and i went for brownie. It was good. But in the middle there was a ball of chocolate which as i suppose, was meant to melt in the oven... Same picture at my friend's plate... What shall i say?!? Just fyi if people order an appetizer it's a good way to keep them busy and happy until waiting for the main course. And what's the point in bringing it all together?!? All in all, really not sure... With some improvements it might be really really good... If service, and all other problems stay, i'd rather recommend Hans Im Glück, at least they know when to bring appetizer and patty has flavour...

We passed two nice evenings here. The food is good, but nothing exceptional. The atmosphere is amazing, the restaurant seems like a jungle, you can see it in the photos. It's definitely suggested for prices and quality, but there are better burger restaurants in Bochum.

CHILLERS Bar & Restaurant offers the customers a pleasant, American-friendly atmosphere in California's life and beach style, right in the heart of the Ruhr area.

Great place to sit, watch football, drink and eat. Especially in summer it is the perfect restaurant to sit outside and chat with friends while watching the passengers cross the famous Bermuda 3eck of Bochum. This is also a nice point to start a night out cause all the clubs are nearby. Taste of various drinks and all kinds of meals is good, but prices could be lower as they are in the other locals. Anyway a place to have a great evening!

These really are great burgers and a great selection available but you won't have room for dessert! Great atmosphere and lovely to sit outside in the summer.

They have incredible good food. Very good burger buns, tasty meat and fried. Pricing is also very good. Very friendly team.Only negative point: It's very loud in there. Something that could be improved. In total one of Bochums best restaurants.
