We are a Venitian inspired bacaro (Bar and Restaurant), serving traditional and modern Italian sharing plates.
We loved sitting by the chef and nibbling our way through the night. Our first server was a little slack and kept coming after someone else noticed we were waiting to order food or drinks. Would definitely come back again. Love that they keep space for walk ins!

Went with friends for a birthday dinner and had their tasting menu. All courses were superb. Highlights were the oysters with rhubarb mignonette, smoked kahawai, and rock lobster with fermented tomato. The seaweed butter that came with the bread was fantastic with an oyster-like taste. All dishes were fresh with great contrasting flavors. I had their cheese board, their 3 cheeses were superb. Service was professional and knowledgeable. Great wine list. This is what fine dining is all about.

I am Italian, this was our go to place in Welly. In the last couple of years it has gone downhill, the food claims to be Italian but the food is of sub standard and the service is slow, not great with children.Hi Chiara, You came on the 2nd of June to celebrate Italian National Day. La Bella Italia was full of children on that evening. We are renowned for being excellent with children. That night Lilian, one of our best waitresses, attended your table. We get so many compliments from customers regarding her manner with everyone, especially with children. You came in around 5.30pm and left at 7.15pm. We had 140 people booked plus walk in customers. In the last two years La Bella Italia has received a number of awards for the authenticity of the food and the experience we offer. When the staff who was on that night read your review, they were quite saddened as they remembered you fondly - how you greeted them at arrival and leaving. At the till you were asked if everything was okay and you did not say anything to the contrary. To finish: You are Italian, we are Italians too and we work hard everyday to offer a true Italian experience to everyone who walks through our door. We are very proud of the authenticity La Bella Italia is known for.
