Legends Restaurant at the Paihia Ex-Services Club has gone under new management on 8 April 2019. Our new menu is now up and running including all of the old favourites, new vegetarian meals as well as a great burger menu! We are open daily from 5pm and cl
We decided to eat here as we were attending a hypnotists show, the food is definitely better than our last visit but they ran out of vegetables and the salad bar was very uninspiring, 2 lots a lettuce and a potato salad, not very good , used to have beetroot, egg salad and pasta as well, the veggies were good when replenished but they need to keep them stocked up and hot , the owner is obviously making a huge effort and we will give it another go but on a less busy nightThank you for your feedback, it's reviews like this that allow us to improve. You're right that we're making a huge effort, we have changed the structure of the kitchen and recently updated the menu a little - but don't worry, all of the favourites are still available! On that night it was quite busy and you're right, we did run low particularly with the hot veggie bar - multiple times. We have looked at the issue with replenishing items and have changed the person responsible for keeping the kitchen up to date as to what is needed, so far it is working out well. In regards to the variety of the salad bar we're making efforts to bring different things back such as beetroot and increase the sauce/dressing options - currently we have a balsamic vinaigrette and wholegrain mustard dressing made in house along with our regular sauces, we're also making more prepared salads like egg & potato, pasta and coleslaw. Items do change daily depending on availability so it is possible on a busy weekend we may run out of a popular item but we're doing our best to have a little extra on-hand - particularly items that can last a little longer in the fridge or dry store. I'm sure next time you visit these issues will be a thing of the past. Thank you again for your helpful feedback, it has helped us make Legends Restaurant a better dining option and I look forward to seeing you next time.

We were so hungry and didn't want to miss out on dinner as the place closes early.well I ordered fish and chips.the fish was fresh crunchy but a lot oily and the thin french fries were excellent and so was the fresh salad.my son has the chicken carbonara and it was really excellent as you could taste the smoked cheese .my husband had the pizza which had good thin pastry but his concoction was weird.he had pineapple ,olives, beef, onion, tomato sauce.so it tasted weird.i would have preferred green pepper in it.

We only noticed this as we walked past as it's within the Kingsgate Autolodge in Paihia and it could really use more signage and advertising as it was almost empty during peak time and it's really good. We had the Garlic bread, Oysters, Lamb Shanks, Steak and Fish & Chips and all were excellent. We didn't make it to desserts. Good portions, excellent quality.

Right on the beach in Russell. Classic cocktails, lovely food and one of the best views in the country
We came here for breakfast twice. Food was great, Coffee (very important) was great too. Staff were friendly and helpul. The location is amazing right on the waterfront near the wharf to capture all the holidaymakers coming in to Russell by ferry. The tables and chairs outside would be fabulous in summer but being winter we sat inside. The decor and furnishings were very modern and comfortable.
