Er Dee Wa Cafe is an informal restaurant that serves a variety of Asian dishes, although its initial focus is Thai food. Many of the recognizable items are Chinese in origin, though. Importantly, the food is well prepared and nicely presented. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor tables: the terrace is particularly pleasant if weather permits. Group events are also quite nice on the terrace. We have enjoyed the crispy Calamari, the Spring rolls, the Thai pork ribs, the sleeping duck. the garlic prawns and the sesame bok choy, among others. The restaurant offers beer and wine, as well as a number of non-alcoholic beverages. Service is efficient, although at time a bit rough.Thank you for your great comment.appreciated

Looking for some Thai food while visiting Havelock North. Choose this location and glad we did. We didnât have a reservation so we were seated way in the back even though there were empty tables. We ordered simple main dishes (chicken & noodles and beef with vegetables) and they were very good. We waited over 30 minutes for our dinners, we werenât in a hurry but that was rather long. Service was good, the hostess was very personable. we would return if we lived in the area.

Went with a friend for a quick meal after movies. No one else in restaurant that should have set off alarm bells, we were waved over to help ourselves to any table, they couldnt even be bothered seating us. It was a public holiday so were were expecting to pay a surcharge which was the first thing they told us when the menus were brought over. We chose and placed our order to be told rice was an extra charge. I expect to pay for rice when i buy takeaway but not when dining in. We left and went to our fav thai restaurant in Hastings where rice is included . Usually service at Thai restaurants is fantastic but not here
