We loved the old Hop House in Mt Maunganui. The new one in a beautiful old building in Wharf Street Tauranga CBD is even better. Cool decor, great selection of craft beers, top notch food and excellent service. Donât miss steak night on Wednesday or the $15 Sunday roast. This place is up there with the very best craft beer pubs we have been in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. Walk in off the street ans it looks like a ramshackle beach bar, with beach paraphanalia on the walls and bar! But the food and cold beers just add to the quirkiness of this great place, loved it so much we spent a whole afternoon there! Will go back again for sure.

Went here with a group of friends for a live music night.Foxtrots was great & had a lovely voice singing lots of her own work.We werenât sure if the food would only be of the snack variety but the menu was a great choice of pub grub. The staff were great & service efficient & friendly.Will definitely return
