My family are foodies from way back and have a handful of special treat places we go when finances allow. Falls was always one we loved but it must have changed hands recently. Our lunch meal was average to say the least. The prices have gone up over the last 6 months but were always worth it, due to freshness of fish, quality of meat and delicate, well balanced flavours ... oh and awesome salads. Now the quality is just standard for an expensive meal. $14 per glass of wine is getting up there as well. Im disappointed. Loved this place, but the standards have dropped and chilli has taken the place of fresh and inovative.
I was a little disappointed with our lunch options here. Have wanted to visit for a while but always found the closed sign up when we came into town to go there. Admittedly it was just after 1 p.m. when we went in for lunch this week. Ended up having scones with ham and cream as pretty much nothing else in the cabinet. Service a little slow and not very attentive. It is a beautiful shop with such pretty decor and I so wanted it to be on my favourites list. Funny thing on the tables was a very full menu. No mention was made of this when we were trying to decide what to have. My Cappaccino was delicious as was my friends iced coffee. A little more customer care could make this place great. Here's hoping!
Stooped in during the car show for a bite to eat. Due to the car show they were only serving breakfast at the time. Breakfast only $12 and it was good. Will go back if in town again.
The Old Forge Kitchen catered a fantastic BBQ meal for our group at Easter 2019. Fabulous new potatoes, coleslaw, salads and the best sausages I have ever tasted. Can't wait to visit again when their restaurant is open.
We are a all in one facility with a sports bar, garden bar and restaurant offering everything from eggs benedict to beef wellingtons, bar food and pizza. Lunch is from Tuesday to Sunday 11am till 2pm and dinner from 5pm till 8ish. Our chefs have worked ha
We tried out the pizzas recently and were very happy. 2 pizzas fed 3 adults with enough left over for lunch for 2 the next day. We chose Hawaiian and sea bed. Good amount of toppings and reasonably priced
First time to this cafe. We were nicely surprised by the filter coffee in offer, it was just right and fairly priced. Food on offer in cabinet or made to order. This is not a flashy cafe but a you need for an easily affordable bite and hot drink. Clean and friendly service.

A friendly local bar and restaurant, run by locals. Great Cafe, comfortable snug and bar, dog friendly heated courtyard. Ample dining and full menu, free wifi and fully licensed
Essentially "Pub Grub". Not that there is anything wrong with that, it's not fine dining but then it doesn't pretend to be. Thought the owner, Bruce is excellent as "mine host" in the traditional sense, our waitress also was very friendly and efficient, food good without being outstanding. Needs work on the decor and the outside of the old building (originally a Bank) is in need of t.l.c. Oh, and needs to add "White Hart Lane" to collection of Football Stadium street-names. Bruce - you know who I am now....

Excellent pumpkin quiche from the cabinet and quality earl grey tea leaves. Very happy with the location right next door to the private hot pools (mineral spa). Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Quick service and smiling servers.

We've been here lots of times and always very impressed. The food is delicious and the environment is very unique - of curse! We also eat outside because we have our daughter with us and I am yet to find any eatery that will allow her to be inside but never mind, I'm all about the OUTSIDE anyway. They have these red blankies to snuffle into as it can get a bit windy in Te Aroha. Partner made a small mention of the plastic cheese on his burger and I agree - cheese if one must eat it then please! no plastic!
