The Bay of Plenty (Māori: Te Moana-a-Toi) is a large bight in the northern coast of New Zealand's North Island. It stretches from the Coromandel Peninsula in the west to Cape Runaway in the east, a wide stretch of some 259 km of open coastline. The Bay of Plenty Region is situated around this body of water, also incorporating several large islands in the bay. The bay was named by James Cook after he noticed the abundant food supplies at several Māori villages there, in stark contrast to the earlier observations he had made in Poverty Bay.

Usually my family are huge Soulsa fans but our visit on 18/07/19 was not good. Food quality was below the usual high standard and service was sloppy. The duck was not as good as Roquette and the kids spaghetti bolognese was terrible, I could have cooked better at home, and went uneaten and ended up in the bin at home. The eye fillet was well cooked but had a weird sauce and the shrimps smelt like hot electronics. Sides came well after the mains which was annoying as they arrived when we were most of the way through our meals. Dessert was underwhelming with a cheese cake that dissolved into a wet pile on the plate and a flourless cake drenched in berry sauce which wasn't good. Feijoa pudding was okay. Also ordered an Irish coffee that came well after the desserts and was served in a thin glass with no handle so I had to wrap my napkin around it so I could hold it without getting burnt. I honestly doubt the staff that were working knew what they were doing, it was really disappointing. I'd recommend going to Roquette until Soulsa sorts itself out.

Grab a bene and a flat white here and you'll set yourself up for the day! The pesto is flavorful and the sour dough crispy. If you're keen on sharing, order the bacon and the salmon and swap halfway through - because they are both choice! Outside is scenic and practical if you've got kids, inside is awesome if you want something more cozy. The service is prompt and friendly and you get value for your bucks as a foodie.

Was looking forward to my first visit here but certainly won't be back. Pot of tea was lukewarm. Took it back to counter, and after staff member argued with me that it was the hottest they could make it, (yeah right..), they replaced it. Then the meal I'd ordered had a main item missing, according to description on menu. Again, returned it to counter and they got the kitchen to add the item to the plate. When going to relax in a cafe a customer shouldn't be put through this embarrassing process, not once but twice. Fantastic birthday dinner for my mother with exceptional service provided by Sophie and perfect cocktails mixed by william.The food was not only cooked and presented beautifully there was also so much variety, and it goes all the way around the corner!The view is stunning!and if that wasn't enough towards the end of the night Sophie gifts my mother a birthday card signed by all the staff with a birthday dessert. The whole experience here is wonderful from the moment you walk in the door. The food is great and plentiful. The service was second to none. Always happy to get you anything. and it is dog friendly outside. I even saw them giving a dog a bowl of water.As there was 6 of us we had a variety of food and no one was disappointed. would highly recommend it.

Me and my husband came here several times on our 5 week trip around NZ from the UK. The French toast was so good we made a detour on the return leg to come back for more. It was busy but worth the wait. Staff were friendly and the place has a nice atmosphere. The coffee and lunch dishes were also great too.

We had a fantastic diner tonight at the Brook bar and bistro. We had the Vingisgrassi ( delicious!!!) and the Smoked Salmon Linguine ( the Italians would be jealous of this recipe). The wine was delicious. The dessert was a Bonet (choc, coffee, amaretti and caramboles. You should try this!!!!Last not least, the couple that served diner and wine.
