Things to do in Lower Hutt
This place has been in existence for about a year. Have had a number of takeaways from them. Although the menu is the usual suspects, the food is divine and they have some chef specials as well. Had their chicken vindaloo + garlic naan. The flavors were intense and fresh. Liked it that they sprinkled fresh coriander on it. The naan was huge and thin and you could taste that it had been cooked in a charcoal tandoor. The portion of chicken vindaloo was large, had half of it for dinner next night when it tasted even better, There are a number of Indian takeaways in Lower Hutt and the greater Wellington region, but this one is simply the best. Will be my go to Indian takeaway in future. Also, the chef/owner is delightful.

We have chosen to present some of the more characteristic, yet legendary dishes from North India, especially the Punjab. Our preparation makes our food beautiful to behold and addictive to the palate.
Little India is my regular go to place for Indian meals, mostly for takeaways. Went in for Dining and experienced a great service with delicious meal which made this meal a very satisfying meal in a while. Restaurant has nice atmosphere and good beverage selection. Very attentive staff and brilliant Chefs; especially Chef Gopal who knows the perfect spice level for my meal. Great stuff guys!!
Popped in for a weekend lunch special and we decided to go with a Thali each. Butter chicken tasted good, lamb was good too. The curry portions could have been a bit bigger for our liking. The garlic naan was delicious, one of the best we have eaten recently. The service was prompt and very friendly. The restaurant itself has a nice ambience and was comfortable to sit. If the music would have been not so loud but a bit softer in the background things would have been even better. We will come back again.

We love this small little place! The food is excellent and very authentic with a lot of vegetarian curries. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We asked for a dish that wasn't on the menu (Aloo Mater) and it was not a problem at all for the chef to prepare it for us. Well be back for sure!

We popped into this restaurant for lunch over the weekend. We noticed there were not many patrons already seated which may suggest lack of popularity - but we were very pleasantly surprised by the service and food we got. The chicken masala was particularly tasty as was the onion baji. We were also pleased to see a varied and interesting drinks menu available to accompany our meals. I had a glass of wine and my partner ordered a non alcoholic drink. The service was efficient and friendly and the lunch portion sizes were just right. Not too large and not too small. They included rice and a naan bread. We were very impressed by the value for money this place offers. We would definitely return.

We decided to try Taste Of Raj Iâm so glad we did, the food and service was great. We ordered Murgh Handi Laziz, Mango Chicken, Butter Chicken and Lamb Saagwala. I tried the coconut rice (lovely) and topped it all off with Garlic Naan. The portion sizes were spot on and the dishes had plenty of lamb and chicken. Will be going back for more

We were surprised that despite good reviews, this place did not match our expectations. The ambiance and service were all good. The food was disappointing. Tarka dal tasted anything but! The naan breads were good and tender and of good size. The rice was okay. The kebabs we tried were too oily, not crispy, though the mix used to make it was good. Methi malai mutter was again okay, could be much better, it had too little methi.

All the usual, normal and guest approved asian foods, plus Indian delights too.Quite an extensive menu with something sure to please for most people. They also do take aways.I wanted a "quick lunch" and settled on a Clay pot Fish curry - marinated fish with a highly spices gravy, Yum, Yum...It comes complete with rice, pompodoms, and roti bread. All for $13.50 has to be a good lunch dealIts compact with room for 25 diners ground floor with the same also available upstairs.Worth visiting; I certainly will return soon I hope to savour more delights

Our goal is to serve fresh Artisan style Indian cuisine bursting with flavor in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Quite impressed with this restaurant. The setting and service are very good. And the food is excellent. Try the very varied Indian breads, each of the choices are quite unique and well done. The manager made good recommendations and we were quite happy with the options. The biryani was good. So was the veg kadai and veg miloni. All in all, a very good experience.

Visited Chilli Masala on recommendation from a friend in Wellington, and was impressed with the authentic taste, quantities and good service! You must try the biriyani dishes, the basmati cooked in stock really is delicious. The vegetarian samosas were perfect, as was the Dosa - crisp and delicate.Try the Pepper Lamb , it was tasty and I preferred âhotâ, sensational, needed the cold beer!
