The food here is pretty average and not very inspired. Cabinet food is ok. Service was good, and friendly. They do have the best icecream though as they sell Kapiti. Maybe next time I'll skip lunch and have the ice cream on the beach.

First time we had been here for sometime (used to love the deli presentation). Food nicely set out. We ordered from the cabinet. Paid. went to our seats. Coffee and water arrived promptly. And then we waited. !/2 an hour later our food arrived -too microwaved hot to eat!! Our coffee had long gone. (maybe they are one of those places that hope you will order more coffee). The coffee was really nice. By the way it was steadily busy. We went in at 11:30. At one stage I checked the satf thinking there was only the counter lady and the coffee lady -but there were others. Oh yes the salad was lovely. But the focal part of our meals were horribly squishy.

Close the cafe at 30 nov 2016
Seven of us had breakfast here two consecutive mornings. The first day encouraged us back. Excellent service. The 2nd day service was shocking - half the table had finished eating before the others received their meal. That said the food was good. Can recommend the omelette for breakfast although a number reckoned the smashed Avocado topped with a poached egg was the best dish on breakfast menu. Thank you for your feedback. My apologies for the delay in serving meals to some of your party. The staff concerned was under training and missed the order. Your feedback has been passed to the staff member concerned however I must also take responsibility for not monitoring her work more closely. Thank you.

Visited with friends just recently. First choice of restaurant in Kapiti area appeared to close early on a Sunday.Ordering steak for myself, I found this ordinary only. Have certainly had much better and some worse. At the price I would have expected better. The two who ordered fish enjoyed their meal, another main was in fact not charged for.

A touch of France in Kapiti...Viennoiserie (almond croissants just to mention that), delicate patisserie, Red Rabbit coffee plus a deli side with homemade pates, a large selection of French cheeses and lots of French imports ranging from lollies to snails
The almond croissants are to die for, as is the walnut tart. You are remembered from the last visit and asked if you'd like that today. The loyalty cards are kept there and filled in for you which is very handy. The filled baguettes are a taste of France. This is my favourite place for buying the makings of a special weekend brunch.

Often really busy, I feel that they have 'upped' their game from very very good to excellent for cafe food and good coffee. Service was friendly and very prompt. Awesome!!Great to relax before getting all you gear for the DIY jobs from adjoining Mitre 10 Mega

This little cafe/bar/restaurant is hidden away on its own in Raumati South, a block or so from the beach. It must have a following as we saw the venue had hosted the great Paul Ubana Jones singing and playing guitar the previous two nights. We were there for a simple but tasty lunch of the vegan burger and the crumbed fish and chips. If you are in Raumati, then it is worth detouring to Raumati South ...

So nice to be able to order a meal and know that there is no sneaky sugar, flour or other thickeners thrown in unexpectedly. And super exciting to be able to have a sweet treat. Looking forward to trying some more of the keto slices/cakes.

Busy Sunday, but we found a table for the five of us. Good childrenâs menu- the younger ones enjoyed their bagels etc. The tropical smoothie was not sweet enough for our teenage grandson - but I enjoyed finishing it off. Coffee was good.
