We were keen to drop in for a quick pizza and beer. While the pizzas were fine, the service was terrible. No one greeted us on arrival so we weren't sure whether we just sit at an empty table or wait to be seated. I counted 5 people behind the bar of which 1 person was actually doing something. It wouldn't of taken much for someone to greet us. After no one assisted we decided to just sit down. No one came to the table so I then had to ask for menus. Then after getting menus I once again had to go to the bar and ask yet again for someone to take our order. Still there were lots of people milling around behind the bar while one person was seeing to all the tables. It wasn't even that busy!. Needless to say the drinks and food also took an eternity to arrive. When I asked the waitress if a certain beer was a dark beer, she said yes. Guess what.... it wasn't when it arrived at the table. So if you are after a quick pizza don't bother going here. The pizza was not bad though. Probably the worst service I have experienced in a long time, especially when it wasn't even that busy. I really don't like writing a bad review and this is probably only the second time I have done it. Both times due to poor service.Thank you for the review, we appreciate them all good or bad. We've taken this back to the team and had a good discussion about it. Obviously, we let you down and our service was well below our usually high standard. There are no excuses and we are sincerely sorry that you chose our establishment to dine at and didn't receive the service that you rightly deserved. It was nice to hear you enjoyed the pizza's, and I can promise you that if you ever return the service will be excellent.RegardsEmma

We stopped in here for a few cocktails and we were glad we did! It was about 10 o'clock on a Saturday night and the place was buzzing. The staff were really friendly and there was no pretentiousness about the place even though it has a cool and trendy feel about it. These kind of establishments are really putting New Plymouth on the map for NZ as far as I'm concerned. Definitely worth a pop in when you're in town!

Ms White is one of several establishments in the White Hart hotel building. Ms White sells only two things, beer and pizza. It does both very well in a bench and tables atmosphere in the courtyard. Great selection of craft beers.

A New Plymouth institution. Centreal CBD loaction serving good honest food and cold craft beer.
Auckland prices for average meal. Sorry chef but you can't cook a RARE steak to save your life. Sent my well done over cooked expensive fillet steak back to the kitchen while watching others at my table eat as I went hungry and nibbled on over priced fries and a ridiculous pea dish!! At these prices you'd think you could do much better. Service and wait staff lovely though... at least that's something.

My wife and I went to Joe's for dinner. There were 5 tables, 3 tables ordered pizza, and one were having drinks plus us. Eight waitresses were lined up at the bar just talking and not paying attention to customers. After an hour of no food, I was starting to get annoyed. One of the waitresses finally saw my annoyance and strolled over. The girl who took our order originally then came over after prompting from the other. "Oops, my bad I forgot to put your order in...." (giggle giggle). You don't have to pay for your drink and it'll be another 30 to 40 minutes....the chef will put it on now. Agh no. Not this little black duck. We left furious, and went to Salt where dinner was wonderful and the service thoughtful and attentive. I've read other reviews who've experienced the same. Maybe train staff better or let go of those who are not interested. We'll be telling all our Aussie friends to give this place a miss.We value, respect and appreciate all feedback from our guests and we take on board your comment very seriously. We deal with each individual on a personal level as we do with all feedback we receive at our restaurant from our guests. We would love the opportunity to do this so please contact us via the Joes website at your earliest convenience.
