Find out what Middle Eastern restaurants to try in Amsterdam. Charming, compact and charged with a zestful energy usually associated with cities ten times its size, open-minded Amsterdam delights with well known worldly pleasures tempered with down to earth Dutch sensibility. Radiating along a picturesque series of canals, the city seems to float dreamily and of its own accord at the lowland edge of Europe, welcoming fans of fine art, cutting edge fashion, or a raucous night out, with equal regard for all.

Conveniently situated for a break in a busy day's sightseeing, this unpretentious little kebab place offers the usual basic 'Turkish' fare. nothing fancy. No atmosphere. Maybe I was unlucky, but the day I ate there I had the feeling that I was not really welcome. No greeting, lackadaisical service, and not a hint of apology for the fact that quite a few items on the printed menu were no available. 'No soup', 'no beef' ... But what they did have was quite tasty.

Sir Hummus brings the real Hummus experience to Amsterdam. We serve Hummus in the traditional way â as the main dish, with lush toppings, sides and fresh pita bread. Served just like in streets of Jerusalem - our Hummus is warm, super fresh and fluffy, no
Took the family here for something different and we all really enjoyed it. It was seriously informal (you have to clear away your own dishes...), but the quality of the food was excellent. Unfortunately our children now want this type of hummus every day...

The small indoor and outdoor restaurant has a nice selection of middle eastern entrees. I ordered the lentil soup and the shawarma. The soup was purred and very well spiced. The lamb was diced, tender and mildly spiced. The additional fries and salad completed the meal. The prices were fair. The service was a little slow, but overall this was an average place.

Visited the Wijde Heisteeg 1, 1016 AS Amsterdam location. Though we couldn't be seated, we ordered take away. It was a SCRUMPTIOUS first meal for us (Americans getting acclimated to Amsterdam). Watching the food preparation was an event, in and of itself. The beverages were interesting and quite tasty. When we return? We'll return here.Dear Professor, please do, we are looking forward to it! In the meantime, thank you very much for your visit and excellent review. If you want to enjoy your next visit seated and with a glass of wine, our location in Utrechtsestraat 69 does offer both...Best regardsDan

We ran into this place because itâs the only one near our hotel. I had expected just a so-so place to have some food, but was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable atmosphere, friendly and accommodating staff, and great food.
