We visited the place for a family diner. Just pizza and pasta, not expecting fine dining. We were unlucky to arive on a very busy moment and were placed in the back in the middle of a large space, crowded. Everybody was working very hard and friendly although I had to order a beer three times. The food was âokayâ, average. But we were shocked that we were sitting close to the toilets, of which the doors did not close automatically. At one point we could see a guy taking a pee! Not what you want in a restaurant, could easily be fixed by owners.

My boyfriend and I had dinner twice in this lovely restaurant serving excellent dishes of the real greek tradition...we are kind of expert of greek cuisine travelling a lot on the greek isle and for us it was absolutely amazing to find this place! Also the owners are very special people and their son Valentino will make his best to make you feel just like at home while having dinner there. Last but not least we appreciated so much that they really offered us to sit down and relax even though it was already almost 10pm both times we have been there, which was very nice since we were just arrived in town we were very hungry and almost all the restaurant were already closed or wouldn't let us accomodate anyway. Also the price is definitely very honest and most of the courses are very generous! So if you happen to be in De Koog don't miss the occasion to try this cozy place. You will be delighted by the warmth of this very special family!
We kozen voor de aanbieding Schnitzel, soep was beetje dun, vlees zelf was goed, maar te vet gebakken. maar voor een tientje moet je de eis niet al te hoog stellen. vriendelijke bediening.

Miserable welcome. Service poor at best.Ordered a fantasia pizza ( margarita with your choice of topping). Asked for bolognese. Received a pizza with almost everything you can imagine on it. Plus bolognese. Sent it back. ( we were the only customers at this point). Received the correct one later. With some discussion as to how that order could go wrong. I gave no idea. Starter selection is grim. Almost nothing interesting. Pizza was OK in the end. Other orders were also ok. Nothing special. But really let down by the mistake and grumpy miserable service. Prices ok. But there are many other pizza places on the town that are a lot cheaper. (Also many very expensive restaurants ). I woukd advise looking up the street. half the price and service could not really get any worse.

Spanish traditional tapas
I did see the overall rating on Tripadvisor and was still a bit sceptical. We're from Amsterdam and even there the tapas bars vary in quality. Usually we find we have to lower our culinary expectations quite a bit in the Dutch countryside, so we never expected the quality we encountered in this very Spanish little bar. Excellent and authentic tastes. The owner/cook is from Madrid and he and his wife used to own a Spanish shop in Amsterdam but sold up and settled on the island of Texel. There are only a few tables and the prices are reasonable, so I hope the customers will keep coming throughout the year so they can make a decent living out of their little restaurant.
