We enjoyed a lovely meal with the four of us. Service was good, decor tastful and the starters and mains were delicious. Dessert of eclair was a bit dull, but the ipa beer was lovely. As the place was crowded and we had no reservation, we sat at a table near the bar. It is a very noisy place, so you do not have the feeling to have a relaxed dinner for two.The dishes on the menu are simple but the food is ok. Our drinks (coca cola) were served in a glass that smelled like the water of the washing-up. This was really not nice and we were worried about this. Looking towards the bar we saw how these people wash their glasses: indeed very quick in and out dirty water.

Stadskaffee Laurens in Ackmaar Is located next to the cathedral in an historic building. I was told it was a former police station. The dining area is open with high ceilings and it is a fusion of old and modern in a wonderfully tasteful design. The food was beautifully prepared and top quality. The price of food and drinks was reasonable. The regular menu avocado and salmon and avocado and feta sandwiches were both delicious and the special teriyaki salad had beef that melted in the mouth.

Very good restaurant, excellent service, very tasty food. I had pulled pork nachos, sweet and spicy spareribs and creme brûlée. All 3 courses were very pleasantly presented and served and they tasted great. Spareribs were butter-soft and tasteful and were served in a oven tray-looking dish, very unusual. Good quality for money. Will definitely come back! Thank you!
