It is located on the Markermeer, 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Amsterdam, and acquired city rights in 1357. Hoorn had a population of 72,707 in 2017. The area of the municipality is 53.25 km (20.56 sq mi) of which 33.00 km (12.74 sq mi) consists of water, mainly the Markermeer. If you are visiting Hoorn for business, leisure or just passing through. Make sure you visit this place. You wont be disappointed. The food is excellent. The portions are plentiful and the prices are sensible. The place has a great ambience, and the warm welcome you receive from the attentive staff as you walk in, is so like being in a tavern in Greece itself. Try the chicken, pork, steak, skewers (no 50 on the menu) if you are really hungry, but be warned you just might not be able to sample the delicious coconut ice cream served in a coconut shell with fresh fruit & cream. If you try it once, you will definitely be going back, as everyone else has who I recommended Zorba's to. Happy dining.

Met 2 vriendinnen hier lekker gegeten. Vooraf verschillende kleine gerechtjes, heel lekker (ik ben ook gek op tarama salade, dat stond helaas niet op de kaart). Als hoofd de mix grill, kip en gyros heerlijk, souflaki beetje droog. Lekker met tzatziki rijst en frietjes. Aardige gastheer!
