Discover Restaurants offering the best Seafood food in Enkhuizen, North Holland Province, The Netherlands. In one of the largest civil engineering works undertaken anywhere in the world during the 20th century, what was once a sea called the Zuiderzee, was turned into a combination of reclaimed land called polders and a huge lake, now known as the IJsselmeer. To fully appreciate the scale of this project, drive into town, first through the Flevoland polder to Lelystad. Then the approach to this beautiful town is via the 30-kilometer (19-mile) long dyke. You will not get a better impression of the scale of the work that took place. You first drive through mile after mile of reclaimed land, then on a road that goes right over the 'sea', with water on both sides. Enkhuizen itself was once one of the main operational bases of the East India Company (VOC). The town today is a water lovers' paradise. Boats abound; at times, every second street seems to be a canal. The Zuiderzeemuseum here has both an inside and outside section. It is devoted to the history of the Zuiderzee and the cultural heritage of the town.

We dropped in for dinner on a weekday evening.Service was OK, but the waitress obviously wasn't enjoying herself much. Everything seemed too much effort, she barely spoke and didn't communicate well. Our fish dishes were OK, but average, but the deserts were very good. This restaurant/hotel is situated in a nice location and we used the terrace facing the old harbour.Nothing to write home about and a bit of a missed opportunity. All the basics are in place and someone could easily turn this place around and make it into a success story (preferably without the sullen waitress).

Just wondering around town and we found this nice little restaurant. My brother and I , always in the mood for a glass of wine figured that an Italian restaurant probably would offer some good choices. And they did. They also offered Antipasti Variazione voor 2 personen. We ordered this and enjoyed it immensely. Plenty to eat for the both of us.Great food and great service. Also a nice little outdoor area to enjoy some sun and people watching.

Since 1972, our cozy restaurant housed in an old warehouse, and is decorated with many maritime attributes and ship-models. From our restaurant you have a wonderful view over the old port and the Drommedaris. You can lunch or dine in a maritime atmosphere
We had mussels in white wine and they were absolutely delicious! Also the other plates we saw passing by looked good and the waiters and waitresses were friendly and helpful. The terrace next to the harbour is very nice to sit on, but inside the restaurant there also is a good atmosphere. There are small ship models everywhere. When you visit Enkhuizen, this is a nice place to go!

This eaterie is associated with a fish shop. You enter through the store. Outdoor seating overlooks a canal: a nice quiet corner. A very good range of fish are available, maybe as filled rolls. Food is fresh and tasty but presentation is simple and minimal and rather small. Prices are good

Canât understand complaints about service. All three ladies who served us were quick and friendly. A couple of times we ordered drinks and they were there in less than a minute! The IT system works a treat. Food was OK, especially my plaice fillets and the cheesecake, but the chips tasted as if the fat they were fried in was a bit old. Nice view from the terrace of boats, ducks and even triathlon swimmers training. Crows are daring and help themselves if unobserved!

We found this place when we were walking around Enkhuizen after a visit to the Zuiderzee Museum, and were very impressed with the setting right on the harbor. The chef/owner came out and recommended seafood dishes to us. My wife had salmon, and I had tuna; both were outstanding. With 2 glasses of wine, the bill came to 58 euros. Definitely worth the visit!
