This great pub-restaurant has a great menu. Simpel but great quality meat. The tournedos and spareribs are fantastic. The portions are big and you will leave with a very satisfied feeling. What I likes best is the staff. The know what it means to 'serve' their customers. They are very helpful, but also very attentive. Asking you at the right moment if you need anything else? Your glas of wine, beer, soda will never be empty!Really great restaurant, also with kids.

We had dinner here on the recommendation of a local. The restaurant is well managed, both professional and friendly. The interior is dark but not gloomy. We always opt for fish when in Holland and here had a delicious dorade at a reasonable price.

The place may just look like a run of the mill cafe, but the food is fabulous! Ordered a glas of red while perusing the menu; it came with a glass of water and they brought some bread while we were waiting with herb butterOur meals were cooked as ordered and surpassed our expectations!Highly recommended!

Decided to pop in to this cozy little restaurant during mid-day showers and ended up with a two course lunch. Was honestly surprised by the high quality food at very reasonable price.Staff were very friendly and happily translated the dutch menu as well as explaining the dishes. Would visit again, all in all a wonderful experience. Also had lots of wine sampling on the menu, but that day I was driving.

Based on our hotel, recommendation we had an outstanding dinner at this small restaurant close to the central square in Hoorn. A very innovative approach to fine dining with a selection of beautifully prepared and presented small dishes that our palates thoroughly enjoyed. This restaurant is an ideal place to linger over a meal and enjoy the evening. One of the best meals I have ever had anywhere in the world! I don't have any experience of Michelin starred restaurants but this one must be getting close. Also excellent value as dinner for two with a bottle of wine came in at under 100 Euros. Was almost embarrassed when it came time to pay as credit cards were not accepted nor was Visa debit. A Mastercard debit, which we did not have, would have worked. Fortunately we had just enough cash between the two of us!Otherwise than the method of paying the bill I can not find enough good words to describe this memorable experience.

This is one of those places where you walk in and feel the warmth and coziness right away. It's also one of the most popular places in the city, so reservations are almost always a must, especially on weekends. The menu isn't huge but there is enough variety that almost anyone can find something they like on it. The meals come with shared sides- usually a bowl of cole slaw, fries, and truffle mac-n-cheese (our favorite!). It is a place you can go with friends, colleagues, or family, including young children. The staff are friendly and efficient. The spare ribs are a good choice, and I personally like the (main course) salad with steak and avocado.

The restaurant is housed upstairs in an ancient tower by the harbor, which makes for great views and ambiance. However, it also means that customers have to be prepared to hike up a very tall, steep, corkscrew stone staircase â this can be a problem for older people who are unsteady on their feet (note that the toilet is at the other end of the staircase from the restaurant). We had a light lunch and enjoyed the soups and wurst. Service was good.

Mostly pros with slight and almost unnoticeable (though quite "acute") cons: location is a great plus - situated in a quiet alley with tables on the bank of scenic canal; service is good, waiters are nice and attentive (though you may get the feeling that they want you to go away as soon as you finish eating so they could have an empty table for another guests); food is delicious (one big flaw here - we were very surprised to find a sharp kitchen knife under the pizza crust... pretty scary); price is definitely acceptable. Overall - if you visit Hoorn, you can boldly go to Portofino (just check if there is nothing hidden under your food before you start eating).

Welcome by Italian Restaurant: La Sfia. We have a cozy, Mediterranean atmosphere. "Cooking is a matter of combining the right ingredients, of which the chef is the first," is the motto of renowned chef Franceso Angliani, who rules the kitchen of the recen
In the beginning, we were not familiar with the system in which they use "all you can eat". You can choose the first course or second course and try whatever you like. best part we like was no rush and you chose the order. We could find an opportunity to drink a reserve vino test was so god with options with the menu. Chef and his wife were very friendly. The restaurant was well decorated and clean.

You know, there is an old English saying, "the devil is in the details"....This unfortunately is the case with Lucas Rive. There is a lot of "good" at this restaurant, but unfortunately Mr Devil is making his presence known, and I think some effort needs to be taken to ensure that Lucas Rive does not follow the slippery slope downwards and loose standards. I will start with the negatives first:- Service is terribly slow. The restaurant was not full, and yet there were long waits at every stage ... long wait for waiter to take order, long wait for amuse Bouche, long wait for main meal, long wait for the bill.- Staff not attentive. We spilt a glass of water on our table, we had to clean it up ourselves with our napkins because no waiter came to help despite a large puddle of water visible on the table and restaurant floor.- Too much "selling" of drinks by staff. The way the staff sell the water is particularly shameful. One bottle of water at this restaurant does not cover three glasses, the staff adopt an unacceptable pouring style where they fill two glasses full and the third glass with the remaining water which is only a third of a glsss. Why not at least make an efffort to pour evenly ? But really the water bottles should be more generous in size !- USA beef on the menu ! WHY ???? There is so much amazing European beef, why do you have to import USA beef which is stuffed full of chemicals ?- Pastry section needs improving. The desert concepts are good, but the flavours do not come through in the execution. Now, on the positive side:- Ingredients are of high quality and cooked well. The quality of the fish cooking is particularly excellent and noteworthy.- Sauces are of high quality, well executed and flavoursome- The flavour combinations are innovative and well executed- Plating is excellent, all dishes well presented and look appealing.Overall a good restaurant, but for the prices charged the negatives I highlighted above are really unacceptable.I struggled to decide on a star rating for this restaurant. Ultimately i decided on "average" because as good as the positive elements were, then negative elements really detract from the experience and, as mentioned above, are unacceptable for an establishment of this type and especially given the prices charged !!
