CHEF FRANCIS WOLF'S AMBITIOUS TERROIR-DRIVEN QUEBEC CUISINE Le Hatley Restaurant at Manoir Hovey, a lakeside Relais & Châteaux property, reflects Chef Wolf's passion for the region's history, its bounty, and its natural beauty. His culinary philosophy is inspired by what he has identified as seven distinct seasonal flavor profiles that celebrate the ingredients that are abundant in Quebec's rivers, lakes, forest and fields.
Le Manoir Hovey. Service is acceptable but certainly not exceptional. The menu looks wonderful on paper but is painfully disappointing to the palette, so much so I had to send my desert back. It was lemon sorbet with white chocolate mousse. I asked the server to come to my table. I quietly said, "This is inedible ". She smiled and said "I know" , then removed the dish. She asked if I would like to try the Black Forest cake. I said sure. It actually had small mushrooms and tree moss on it. I appreciate the artistic quality and the originality, but again, I literally could not eat it. Who puts mushrooms and twigs in chocolate cake?
Many modern restaurants are trying to find the thin line where food and art can comfortably coexist as one. I appreciate what Le Manoir Hovey is attempting. However, unless our meal was an outlier, they have drastically missed the mark. The food is quite simply terrible and the prices are outrageous!!! My wife and I had an inexpensive bottle of wine, we both ordered the table d'hôte, and our check came to $350.
We will NOT be returning anytime soon.

What a fabulous restaurant! This was my favorite meal of our recent vacation to Canada. The menu was very intriguing with entree combinations that sounded a little unconventional and turned out to taste fantastic. I had tuna tartare for my entree--that was divine. The meal was creatively and beautifully presented. They somehow created a beet wonton stuffed with tuna as well (it looked cool and tasted great). My husband went with the duck, which he also loved. The service was very attentive. Can't wait to return.

There are quite a few negative reviews about this place so we were unsure whether to eat there. Our experience was good. Food was good as was service. Nice location by the river.

This was our sixth annual visit to Plaisir Gourmand, which uses locally sourced Quebec products. As usual we had a wonderful dining experience. The appetizer, an avocado panna cotta with tomatoes was amazing. Everyone really liked their starters, the boar rillettes, the scallops with pineapple and white chocolate, and the smoked salmon bonbons. Our main courses, lamb shanks, halibut and beef were all delicious. The "revisited" strawberry shortcake and lavender creme brulee desserts were great. Unlike some friends and reviewers, we have always felt welcomed. While the service can be perceived as slow, dinner there is not something to be rushed. I can't wait until next summer.

The place is exactly what North Hatley is about. Tranquil setting, good food with wild life around, even in the backyard setting where we had lunch. Lots of birds, and the absolutely biggest caterpillar seemed to inch its way across the terrasse.
Fries great. Smoked meat Sandwich was very good. The salads appear to be the best option, very generous portion, and the duck confit salad looks the best.
Love the place. Coffee was just average though.

We stayed at L"Auberge du Coeur d'Or from June 24-26, 2016.
We were given Room #5: very clean and quiet, hardwood floors, nice linens, comfortable bed, air conditioned, good water pressure in the shower, free wi-fi. No Television in the room, which made for good relaxation.
The room price included breakfast... waking up to the wonderful scent of homemade croissants one morning, homemade chocolatines the next, was quite a treat. Breakfast consisted of 2 courses: first with the homemade pastry, fresh juice and fresh fruit; the second of eggs, prosciutto or ham, English muffins. All delicious and baked/cooked to perfection! Their homemade jams are on the breakfast tables; it's great to sample the different kinds as you can also purchase jars to take home.
We had dinner there the first night: 6 courses, all cooked to perfection, fresh and good quality ingredients. The co-owner is a French chef.
We will definitely return to this quaint and wonderful inn. The hosts are friendly and most welcoming. We were quite surprised by such a low price in high season: Room at $115 p/night with breakfast for 2, not per person! The price for the 6-course dinner was also relatively low-priced at $42 per person... and it's bring your own wine!

This little cafe is upstairs within a clothing store, A little hidden away but don't hesitate to climb the stairs. The menus isn't expansive, panini, quiche, coffee, tea, and some of the best pastries in the world!
Not being a French speaker I can't tell you what was in the panini beyond ham and a wonderful soft cheese. It was perfectly prepared, crispy without being greasy. Wonderful flavors! A three layer chocolate mousse cake with coffee was a heavenly combination. The hostess was a pleasure to meet and brightened the experience.

We loved this place. The staff was very nice, the beef brisket was tender and delicious and the pulled pork tacos were great. The cole slaw was good but it would have been nice to have a non-mayonnaise version (vinegar base instead). It is worth the stop if you like BBQ food.
