I reviewed this Bojangles last June. It was spotless then and the food was consistently good. The staff was on top of their game. Not so good any more. Staff surly on occasions, restaurant dirty, seems they have a lot of turnover resulting in less than great staff. Lately the slaw cups are only partially filled. When I asked one of the staff looked at me and said, âthat happens when it settles.â Seriously?? Honey, that is what happens when management cuts corners. It is so unfortunate that they have gone from very good to just getting by.
JC's Place -- Food for Foodies -- came to Carthage, NC several months ago. It's in an old house, maybe built in the '30's or '40's, and there are multiple dining rooms, furnished with period wooden tables and chairs. The menu is amazing. I had lunch there today with a colleague, we try to go there every couple of weeks. Today I tried the "pile of grilled shrimp" -- perfectly grilled without any overpowering seasoning, tender, flavorful, served with hush puppies, fried okra and choice of side (i had a green salad). Also ordered the grilled bread as a starter - rosemary bread with hummus, avocado and sliced tomato -- delicious! Finished with warm cherry pie! There is a daily soup choice -- last week I had the soup with white beans, carrots, potatoes, Kale and andouille sausage; today it was a fish stew. Next time I'm going to try the Spaghetti Squash with Marinara. (You may also add a meat.) Under the Major Munch category are baskets of chicken tenders, or shrimp, or pulled pork, or prime rib, or grilled fish fillets served with fried okra and hush puppies. Or maybe I'll try the crawfish mac and cheese. I have a lunch companion who ALWAYS orders the chicken salad because, she says, it's the best in the world! Sandwiches are served on hogie or ciabatta rolls. Meals are served paleo (bread and dairy removed) for an additional $1.50. The variety is such, and the food so good, that I have lunch here at least once every two weeks ... sometimes every week! Can't say enough good things about JC's Place! If you want to go for dinner, JC's Place is not open every night, so call them at 910-585-7151 to check. Staff are excellent, even when the restaurant is crowded, service is superb. Prices are reasonable for the quality of their food, but don't expect McDonalds' prices.
Ate there the first time last week with another couple. Menu was not large but had a decent enough variety. I ordered the flounder as it looked to be the lowest calorie item on the menu with veggies and roast brussel sprouts. The portion was large and it was very good however so much butter! I cant say I didn't enjoy it, I did but hard for a gal to accept while watching her waistline.

Hear of the good seafood so wanted to check it out. Small, older grill out in the country. Not too many tables but the seafood (flounder & oysters) were excellent as well as the slaw and hushpuppies. Not a fan of styrofoam dishes and cups but did have regular silverware. Service was very good and friendly. Seafood only served Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

These folks have the best sweet potato fries ever. I have been coming here for years for lunch and always get them with my sandwich.

This restaurant is off-the-beaten-path, but well worth it. At Pik N Pig you can eat inside or under the covered porch. We chose to eat outside which gave us a close-up view when a plane flew in! The food was great, and the staff, super friendly. Make sure you ask about the antique post office furniture in the entrance. By the time we exited, the place was packed. I can understand why.
