This restaurant is very good for burgers and drinks but horrible for other items. My wife had the shrimp and grits which was poor, sister- in- law had barbecue and macaroni and cheese which was horrible and I had the burger which was excellent. Service was satisfactory. We would not return.

We were there on a Friday night so it was busy but we were promptly seated. The offering are standard pub fair of average quality, except their french fries are excellent. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Good selection of beers and cider.

The establishment has a nice atmosphere but the bar is very small. It only seats 6 people and it closes at 10:00 on the weekends and 8:00 on weekdays. I wish it were open longer.

We were very happy to learn that our dog is now accepted on the resort grounds. On a slow Monday afternoon, sat outside for lunch, and were greeted by Berlyn, our server. Downhill from there. Slow to bring cocktails; thereafter, we ordered lunch. After awhile, she returned and asked if we wanted anything else. We noted that we were awaiting our lunch. Oh, she would go check on it. She returned and noted that the staff had dropped it on the floor, and had to remake it. Lunch finally came; food was good.We ordered a second drink; when she returned with the drink order, she noted that my beer was the end of the tapper. It was 2/3 full. WHAT!!When the bill came, there was no comp for the wait time, nor the partially full beer. The tip matched the service.Thank you for taking the to leave your feedback, Tom. First opened more than sixteen years ago in Savannah, Georgia, the Six Pence Pub has grown to become the first choice for great food, and drink in a cozy, congenial, conversation friendly atmosphere. We are proud to say we're the most authentic English pu
We eat here regularly when in Blowing Rock. They have great pub food that is consistently good. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. There is also an outside dining area for summer. Our favorites include the fish and chips, shepherd's pie and gouda burger. Great selection of beers as well. They are also one of the few places open late. If we get into town in the evening, we can still eat there at 9 p.m.

Recommended and owned by the owners of the lovely Gideon Ridge Inn in Blowing Rock, this could not be farther from what we expected when we went for dinner. We were thinking rustic, casual. Parking was almost impossible to start with. Noisy, crowded. A busy bar and a restaurant large and equally busy. But we got a table and our server was delightful. We got our bottle of wine and first course. Very good, but then we asked for extra bread for our mussels and it took half an hour. Our main course seemed as though it would never arrive, so we did something we have never done before. We got up and decided to leave. The surly manager gave us a bill that was discounted, but did not take off our main courses, only 50% off. We disputed that and won. They gave some kind of excuse, but later, at Gideon Ridge where we were staying, we heard that this experience was not uncommon. A shame and shame on the Gideon Ridge owners! Hope they can change this, because the food and bar (probably attracting mostly locals) was good.

We were staying in a hotel on the same road so wanted somewhere close by to eat and chose Foggy Rock based on TA reviews and weren't disappointed! The service and food were excellent - so good in fact that we ate here both nights we were in town and neither meal disappointed! Just gutted we didn't get chance to try the sister breakfast restaurant too! Can recommend the California Chicken and the Earth bowl - both delicious and big portions (with the option to take leftovers away which is always great).
