Our barbeque is slowly smoked over oak and hardwood coals for hours. This is the traditional way it's been done in Eastern North Carolina for hundreds of years. No shortcuts with gas and electricity, just time honored methods that give homage to our past
We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door. As BBQ lovers we wanted to try out this new restaurant. The pork was very good. Coleslaw and potato salad were different than traditional but very tasty. The ribs were ok. I would suggest you remove them from under the heat lamp because they are dry and require a sauce. I wish there were other options for BBQ sauce and marked better. As a BBQ joint if you are going to sell a burger put ur own spin on adding BBQ meat and not chili. The pork would have been a better addition to your daily special. The gentleman working the cash register was very nice and gave us time to place our order since it was our first visit. A few small improvements can make this place a go to for BBQ. We appreciate your business and constructive comments. We are continually making changes to improve the quality of our food. Hope to serve you again very soon.

Lunch at Shipwrecks was fantastic. Best blackened scallops I've had in the OBX. This place may look like a jumped-up diner but inside is fine dining at diner prices. WIde beer list, friendly people and a comfortable room. It's all good, but pay attention to the specials. And southern treats like a BLT with fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese. We're going back.

Masala Bay was a terrific dinner! Nice atmosphere; courteous friendly professional service and delicious food. The Samosas were really tasty and spiced just right with the sauces; the tandoori shrimp were excellent and the seafood combo was also well spiced and presented. All in all a wonderful dinner. Better than the traditional OBX dinner.

Was my first time there with friends that make it a tradition every year to go. My fried flounder sandwich was good, my friends had the bottom skin on which was not good he was disappointed. My hush puppies were average. The raw oysters my friends had were delicious. The peel and eat shrimp were terrible. The peels stuck to the meat and couldnt peel. The server told us they had been having problems with them and offered to take back. (If they were having problems why werent they testing them?) The replacement of fried Oysters I was told were great. Wanted the crab and corn chowder and was told "oh those arent really the specials on the board we dont have" Yet 2 friends that sat at the bar at the same time got it and said it was delicious. Our server wasnt that great. The decor is fun. Not sure I would go back.

Just a nice atmosphere (cool bar) and great beer selection. The foodâs pretty good, too, though a little pricey. But, itâs gourmet food, so youâre paying for it.
