Waffle House

Reviewed By RickandSarah2

We went to the Waffle House this morning and the food was very good. It's always too cold in there and other customers thought so as well. I asked the waitress if they could please turn the air up or off because it was too cold. She informed me that the cooks needed it cold because it's gets hot where the cooks are. We have been there many many times because this is our hometown and it's always too cold, but no more. The cooks or more important than the customers. I even had a long sleeve shirt on. Then they brought the hot syrup five minutes later than my waffle. I also asked for a glass of water with my coffee which I never received. Hope you send some corporate personnel in because this is sub standard to what a business should be. I even left a tip but I shouldn't have...Respectfully,Rick [email protected]

I love visiting local eateries when I'm traveling. My friend suggested Mrs. Wengers, and I was all for it. It's not a fancy place, but there's no pretension about it being anything more than just a good place to eat. I ordered the chicken fried steak sandwich with sweet potato fries, and it was everything I hoped it would be. Our waitress was as friendly as they come.A couple of the locals asked me later which side we were seated on; I'm not sure if there's a meaning to that or not. I'd eat there again for sure. The prices are as reasonable as you'll find anywhere.

Brass Kettle Family Restaurant

Decided to try the Kettle for lunch since we visist fairly regular for breakfast which is always very good. Well lunch was not as good and in fact below our expectations. Both had sandwiches, Ruebin and Philly. Should have sent Ruebin back but since we like the young ladies working we didn't. Philly ok, but not as good as others in the area. Will keep coming for breakfast but will probably for go lunch.....

This wonderful little lunch & dinner restaurant is a block off Horner, behind the Smithfield Chicken 'n BBQ (SCNB) with plenty of free parking, M - F daily specials, and Seniors and Military & Ret'd Military receive a discount, and there is plenty of inside seating. A common walk-up window for order taking, and a server will bring your meal to your table, We chose the hamburger steak and beef tips each served smothered in sauteed onions, mushrooms, peppers and gravy, and the beef tips were served on a bed of rice. Our sides were french fries and fried squash, and every element of the meal was delicious, prepared correctly and not salted to death. Drinks are very reasonable, not $2 plus like most of the chains. The Brick City Grill has an extensive menu and they serve great food at very affordable prices. Not the location for a romantic rendezvous, but a perfect place for down home cooking!

Tramway Diner

We come here offen. Saturday we had brunch at the booth facing the cooks. I had the 6 oz Stake, eggs, hash browns, and toast for $8.99 which is a excellent deal and it is always great. The service is always great. But, their health score of 97.5 must be fake news. As we were eating we watched one of the cooks eat and drink as the prepared food to be served. She was eating and drinking from a diet coke can. She touched her mouth and face repeatedly and past plates to be servered. I am sure that is a big health violation? Too bad we like dinning here.

I've tried breakfast and lunch here and different items from the menu. The plates are full, but the food is just so bland. I had a patty melt and the beef was just plain. Swiss cheese tasted like it wasnt real cheese. French fries and milkshake were good. Seafood on Fridays - just don't do it. The breakfasts are plain and tasteless. Go to Cracker Barrel, it tastes better. The customer service is decent, but the staff seemed like they did not like thier jobs. The diner itself is cute and nicely updated. Thanks for the visit and the review. Sorry your Patty Melt missed the mark. I can assure you we use real cheese. We use the best product available. We sell a great deal of seafood and have many positive comments on the quality and taste. I invite you to give us another try. Once again, thank you for your visit. Hope you'll dine with us again soon. Thanks Again, Steve BrewerOwner/Manager
