Stopped here on way home, neat atmosphere. Not your traditional Mexican restaurant. More expensive than we are used to with Mexican, cheapest meal was $11.99 for dinner. Salsa was ok, definitely heavy in cilantro. Hot salsa wasnât really spicy. Food was average for price they charge. Husband got 3 really small tacos for 11.99. Totopos bowl was good, would have been better with avocado. Portions were adequate. Waiter was very attentive. Really interesting decor, especially the bathrooms.

We've tried many NC Mexican restaurants and have only found a few that we liked as much the Tex-Mex we ate for years. My husband always gets the combination plates and he seems to like them all the same. I try different dishes but one of my favs is Chicken Enchiladas with the tomatillo sauce (green sauce). We drove quite a distance to try out Mi Cancun and arrived in the early evening. I was surprised by the enormous selection of Tequilas but we ordered two traditional, frozen margaritas which came in a tall glass. They were quite sweet but were supposed to be made with freshly squeezed juices. The chips were not hot and thicker than I prefer but the Picante was tasty and each of us received our own container. The server was not very friendly but our food came quickly. I was pleased that my meal included three enchiladas and they were full of chicken. The tomatillo sauce was very good. I also liked the refried beans and rice. I then took one enchilada home and asked for extra sauce to accompany it. I look forward to coming back, especially if I'm in the area.

It's decorated with not-fancy Mexican-ish furniture, clean, friendly waitstaff. An extensive menu of the usual Tex-Mex item in many, many combinations. A fair amount of vegetarian items, so that makes it nice for a group with different dietary requests. Good tasting food, but not gourmet.

Gonza Tacos y Tequila is excited to announce their first Cary restaurant at the corner of Tryon and Kildaire Farms roads in Waverly Place. With its Colombian influence and eclectic Dia de los Muertos decor, Gonza Tacos y Tequila is far from your stereotyp
The food is delicious! Service is great! Seating indoors or outdoors! Playground in front! Super child friendly! Great environment with friendly people and safe/attractive for families with young children. If you want to talk to friends, you might want to seat outside since the music can be overpowering inside. The drinks were excellent! Lots of different choices in the menu! They are also flexible if you want to change some items. I went with a large group of friends and family and we were super pleased. Everything was wonderful!

Hardly a month goes by when we donât find ourselves in here for Margarita Monday or Taco Tuesday. We love their food - have never had any disappointment and have come here for years. It is our Mexican go-to place!
