My wife and I remember the days of hitting the "Awful Waffle" 20 years ago after being out too late with friends. Its always open and you can count on greasy cheap American diner food. Who doesn't want some hashbrowns scattered, covered, smothered and chunked with a cheeseburger or chicken sandwich at 2AM? What we dont miss from those days is the loud mouthed jerks and occasional fights. We have found its a great place for breakfast of lunch on the weekends. Just be ready for long lines here for breakfast but you can always order breakfast anytime. The service here is quick, food is good (yes its greasy so dont go if counting calories) and hits the spot. They have a new $5 menu so you can always find something. My wifes complaint and I agree...was that the bacon is not crispy is soggy like country ham. Because of that and the lady bleaching the floors/mopping by us on our last visit I give it a average.

We've lived in Wake Forest for a little while but have never tried Border because it's not on our way so we forget about it. Tried it recently for breakfast and had a good meal. My wife had the pancakes and wished she had ordered 3 because 2 was not enough but they were good. I had an omelette with potatoes which was a very good option. Service was pleasant and food was delivered quickly. Wish they were open for dinner but look forward to trying lunch someday.

We have been there several times. Every time we go we try something new, and love the new thing we tried. Last time we had lasagna and a portabella sandwich and they were great. Before that, we did breakfast. Again, awesome. A word of warning...their pancakes are huge!!! I got a short stack and still could not finish them. Next time I'm getting one with my breakfast. Next time I plan on trying the vegan burger. I believe it is a recipe of their own devising. Mind you, the food is fresh and wonderful and something like that along with personalized service is not something you will get at Denny's prices. It does cost a bit more, but it's not what I would consider expensive. Moreover, the quality of food and service make it a bargain in my book!

Although we did not expect the Taj, the Waffle House did surprise us a bit with how basic and loud it was. With the kitchen exposed, you could see everything going on.(not always a good thing). The service was lackluster, and I had to request a refill of coffee even though the waitress passed by several times. Good Hashbrowns, though, and a large portion of very basic breakfast food.

Breakfast all day......crispy bacon......dinner style counter (With a TV) Senior discount.Waht more could you want in a family run diner. LOVE that they have some ethnic food, and did not try it but bet it is good and will go back to try. Service very good.
