Because Lunch at Bistro on Main. One of our party is SICK...so the philly/"steak" sandwich was the thing. He's been in the bathroom!! The sandwich was mostly cheese, little meat. Was the meat scarce? Bad? or the cheese? Storage temps matter. The other entrees were underwhelming. The Lobster Bisque arrived LUKEWARM with a Skin on it from sitting under a lamp. This is likely the LAST time we will visit. 2 stars since 2 people didn't get sick. I considered calling the Health Board !We are empathetic about a guest getting sick but we sold 23 cheese steaks that day and no one else got ill, so it definitely is not a health issue. I can also show you our A+ sanitation certificate from the health board. We are very careful and conscious of how we handle, serve and store our food. There is no excuse for the Lobster Bisque. I wish you would've said something to your server. We would've been more than happy to get you a fresh cup. I would hope you would come back and try something different on our menu. All the best.

4118 is an absolutely amazing restaurant! We ate lunch there the day we arrived in Highlands. Everything here is prepared in house or sourced locally. We had the house made bison sausage on the pretzel roll, which was locally made, and it was amazing! The sausage has such a great, savory flavor, the pretzel roll was exactly like a good homemade pretzel. We also had the beet salad with blue cheese which was the perfect combination of cheese with beets and the dressing was superb. To top it off the micro greens gave the salad a bit of zest and complimented the beets nicely. We enjoyed lunch so much that we came back for dinner the next evening. The wild mushroom ravioli with the duck confit was prepared perfectly with the duck complimenting the mushrooms nicely. The duck breast with the freeze dried cranberries was cooked to perfection and so tender and flavorful. This is a hidden gem in Highlands. There are few restaurants of this quality in this area so I highly recommend that you try 4118.thanks for the kind words and we hope to see you again soon- Chef

Great new place on Main Street in Highlands, NC. Weâve eaten there three times since they opened in early July, lunch and dinner. Even sat outside with our dog once. Really enjoyed the food and the staff took good care of us. The owner even stopped by to check on our table each visit.
