Kobe has updated it's menu offerings and the results are fantastic. The fresh sushi and sashimi is excellent again. All of the fish is fresh, has a great flavor and texture. The sushi rice is well executed. The combination offerings are extensive and priced well. Try a Japanese beer on Tap.

I have to say that if you are the people leaving rave reviews for this awful sushi restaurant, then you really donât know a darned thing about what excellent sushi is! First of all, any so-called sushi restaurant that advertises on its menu as serving Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai food, should be immediately suspect, as no legitimate sushi restaurant would ever do this! This place uses the cheapest nori (seaweed) that they can buy, which arrived soggy (a big no-no for sushi aficionados). Also, there was far too much rice in the rolls, and the rice itself was incorrectly seasoned leaving an unpleasant vinegary taste in the mouth, with the texture of the rice wet, heavy and grainy. All in all, the sushi (if you can call it that) was very poorly done, and disappointing to say the least! Also, the place is NOT clean, especially the outside sidewalk and entry doors which should be cleaned and hosed down daily. A good power washing would be nice too. When we were there, a trash container was overflowing right near the door, and someone had spilled a soft drink on the pavement which forced us to navigate our way around the mess. Not a good start. As for us, we will continue to go to Warajii in Raleigh for our sushi dinners, where quality, freshness, and SKILL surpasses this dump any day! Clayton desperately needs a decent, REAL Japanese sushi restaurant, but sadly Sushi Iwa is not the place for people who know and love quality sushi.
I have been to many Chinese restaurants on the area, this one is one that resembles the quality of the New York Chinese Restaurants, I have not dined in even though they do have seating for about 20 but we usually we call for takeout. This is the only one that no matter how many times I have ordered I never had any burping or discomfort, always "Fresh"Friendly and fast.

We have come to find most American Chinese buffets are predictable in quality and selection. While the selection here is about average, the quality is a step below the scores of others we have been to. We will make the trip to Garner when so inclined to have Chinese buffet!
