Nice atmosphere on the patio, staff was very kind to our small dog. Sandwiches were very tasty. One odd thing - you go to the counter to order, serve yourself to drinks, and then they bring your food to the table, after which you have to bus your own table. On the check-out, we were asked how much we wanted to tip (by percentage). Why would you tip at all under the circumstances?

Nothing really negative that can be said about Abeja's. Nice friendly service, limited but very good menu selection. Just two minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Every time I come here, I desperately want to give it a 4 star but the food stops short of that rating. There is always something alack that makes the meal not fully satisfying. The ambience and the setting is beautiful in a forested area and a dedicated owner and help. However, first of all they cater mainly to carnivores with very limited options for normal people. The fresh lemonadae and coffee were good tofay. However, I cannot say the same about the grilled cheese sandwich for adults. It was gooey with no taste of sourdough as it claims to be. The eggplant dip taht came with it tasted dry and stale.Hello - Thank you very much for your feedback -- although I'm sad you didn't thoroughly enjoy your visit, we do take your opinions seriously and are always aiming to improve. To respond to a few of your points, I'm not sure what you mean by "normal people," but if you are insinuating vegetarians, please note that our entire menu offers vegetarian substitutions just about anywhere you see meat, with the only exceptions being a few of the dinner options. Each and every breakfast item has a little note where there is a meat item with recommendations for veggie substitutes we can make. I'd be happy to point it out for you next time you're in, so you can see all the things you can enjoy! As for the bread, we proudly serve Annie's sourdough bread, which is not only a local and family-owned business, but one that's been in business for years and known for their high quality. When our bread delivery arrives, it was fresh-baked that morning, and we really love it. And, yes, the grilled cheese will be gooey as it is melted cheese... I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy it though - it's been our customers' favorite since day 1. The eggplant dip, too, is a side item we make quite frequently. It is charred eggplant, which can give it a very smoky taste that might just not have been your favorite. Again, thank you for your feedback and we'll always keep trying to improve. Hope you'll give us another try!

Had breakfast in this mom and pop restaurant three times in the last month, it was a pleasant surprise the first time and Iâve been pleased and impressed each time weâve visited since. They do the basics well and portions are generous.
