Being from Kansas City and having grown up on KC BBQ I wasn't sure what to expect. The brisket and the beans were very good. Samples the burnt ends and the hushpuppy, both were very good. I left there and was very happy with all that we had.

From humble beginnings in a small former gas station, Lancaster's BBQ was born in Race City, USA (otherwise known as Mooresville, NC). The year was 1986 and our slow-smoked, real eastern NC BBQ and race memorabilia quickly became legendary. Owners Jeff an
This place has a down home feel, what you might call folksy-friendly. There's an old timey Gulf oil dispenser at the entrance. The Formica table tops are graced with rolls of paper towels and buckets containing various sauces and condiments. The menu is dominated by southern comfort food and features some of the best pulled pork BBQ I've had in recent years. I devoured a $10 BBQ sandwich that is justly dubbed Jumbo, since it's big enough to serve two. The 'que here is Eastern style, meaning vinegar- and pepper-based with no hint of tomato or mustard. Check out the sauces in the bucket. You get a choice of slaw for your sandwich, either white (mayo) or yellow (mustard), and I think it's best to ask for it on the side. The hush puppies are perfect. I really liked the beer menu here, which offers a good selection of crafts including several fine locals. If you like IPAs and want to drink local, D-9's Hakuna Matata is an excellent choice, and it costs just $5.50 for a generous glass. The banana pudding serving is small, but costs just $1.50 and tastes just fine. Our server Toni did a fine job, I'll remember Lancaster's fondly, and I hope I get the chance to dine there again soon.

Mac's is very casual, with either outdoor or indoor seating. We were with a large group, but the staff did its best to keep up. I'd have to say the food is a step above your typical bar food; the food at Mac's is very tasty and nicely presented. Prices weren't too bad, either.
Was near our hotel Comfort Inn @ I 77 Large selection of typical barbecue Had 3 selections all excellent Speedy service Large selection of self serve dipping sauce Large serving of peach cobbler Root beer in a bottle cordial staff
