Troyâs is located near downtown Boone, NC, and near the Appalachian State University. Menu includes many appealing choices. Two of us got the meatloaf plate which was very good. Another got the Reuben sandwich which he said was good. Seating was quick, service was good, wait time for the food was short. Definitely a good place to get good food!

My husband and I stopped in this morning for a waffle. We each ordered one waffle and I got a side of bacon. We watched as the lady put our waffles in the makers. Halfway through their cook time another employee opened the irons because the lady who closed them never set the timer, so he thought they were empty. When he saw they had waffles in them, he yelled over to the manager that there was only a third of a waffle in each. The manager replied "it's ok, she's still learning". They served me and my husband our third of a waffle like nothing was wrong. When I got my bacon it was still pretty much raw. The manager never apologized for the crappy size of waffles nor did anyone offer a discount. I was charged for a whole waffle like nothing ever happened. I left hungry this morning and disappointed. Not sure if I'll ever go back. The manager needs to work on his managerial skills and customer service skills.

Went on Saturday night for a fish and chips BOGO only to find the fish had flown--they were out. We were offered tried oysters at the same price and they were excellent, properly breaded and served with good fries and saw. I'd rate it higher, but it's semiself serve. You order at a window, but it's table service after that. Pleasant and attentive waitress.
