Just need to say that the lobster wontons appeared to be devoid of lobster. For $12 one would think there would be at least a piece or two of discernible meat. Treat your customers better than this. Your prices are outrageous for the scant volume of food that you plate. On the flip side, your desserts are outstanding and plentiful. The restaurant itself is a rather pleasant place to be. Service is commendable. The bang for your buck is lacking.Did you let your server know you were not satisfied with your choice of appetizer? If you had they would have been removed and you could have ordered something else. The Lobster Wontons are very popular and the vast majority of people who get them really enjoy them. It's easy to complain on line but it's your responsibility to tell your server and give her the opportunity to provide you with something else to satisfy your palate. Our portion sizes are quite generous and our pricing is appropriate for the quality of the food we provide. You obviously have never worked in the hospitality industry and you value your opinion too much.

Every time we stay at the Orchard Innwe indulge and treat ourselves to dinner on the porch. There is something magical about this place. From the beauty of the view to the excellent service to the amazing food, this is a memorable dining experience. This time I especially enjoyed the gazpacho starter and the wonderful lamb chops. The peach crepe brûlée was an excellent finish. Treat yourself and enjoy the best dining experience in Western North Carolina. The Orchard Inn is myfavorite inn of all inns and Newman’s is a winner! Thank you for your kind remarks. We are very proud of our fabulous chef and his entire team who strive to exceed expectations one plate at a time. We look forward to your next visit!

As you drive through Tryon NC heading to Landrum, SC, you may just drive by the Harvest House. It’s an unassuming little place, possibly mistake it for a diner. But this place surprised me with an amazing dinner. I had almond crusted trout with 2 unique side dishes. A great wine selection too. The friends I was with often stop there for lunch too! They love it!

We were a large group of locals, with a private reservation. The only ones in the restaurant for the first hour. Only one other foursome was seated the entire evening, and they were visitors to Tryon. Word of mouth from a local, go someplace else. Service was very good until kitchen problems began. One person was served almost 45 minutes after everyone else. Risotto was gummy and bland, terrible mushy and over-cooked. And even with server's assurance one of the seafood items was completely missing. The large plate had only one more shrimp and scallop than the smaller plate. Not worth the price. We won't be back. But then we said that the last time we went two years ago.

We came to town to see Nina Simone Plaza and stopped here for lunch. Amazing! Loved the decor and well spaced tables. Outside seating is available, but it was too hot for our tastes the day we were there. My husband ordered the meatloaf sandwich that came wrapped in bacon on brie with a sauce. I had the Thai chili shrimp tacos with the beer battered fries. Both were delicious! Lots of other items on the menu also looked tempting too.Only two waitresses on duty, but they hustled and we never felt neglected. Great experience all around!Morning Welcome to Tryon It was special meeting you and your husband, thank you for complimenting my wait staff they work real hard to bring smiles to all Safe travels home. Don't be fooled by the industrial look of the exterior. Step inside for a great culinary experience. The interior is somewhat "folksy" (in a good way) and the bar seems to be more lively. The food is nothing less than excellent. Shrimp and grits were hugely and the shrimp tasted freshly caught (our server said they are brought up from Charleston). Other fish entrees were excellent also, though a bit overcooked. But still tasty. Nice tender beef and chicken entrees also, along with good salads and yummy dessert selections. If you're in the area, step off I-26 and check this place out.
