I stopped in yesterday with my nephew. It was very visually appealing and interesting, but I thought 4.50 was a bit much for a chili cheese dog. It was a decent dog, but the cheese kinda overpowered the chili and the dog. I will probably go back, but it's not a definite.

I'm updating my review from last year. In the past year Mountain Bistro has really matured, worked out some staffing issues and perfected their menu. I've been back several times after giving them a season to improve and I've been so happy with my recent meals there. The pizzas are now excellent if you enjoy a really thin, crispy crust pizza. Really good wine list. Phenomenal desserts. I really hope they have a long run in Burnsville. 2018 review: I wanted this restaurant to be better and I believe it can be. The problem is not the food. Itâs the waitstaff, and possibly some kitchen issues. We visited on a weeknight and waited a good 45 minutes for a pizza. We watched diners who came in after us receive their food and leave. It was not a busy night. The restaurant had many open tables. This is all not necessarily terrible if itâs a good pizza when it finally arrives and the waitstaff are good at communicating with diners about any delays. Unfortunately, this didnât happen. From the time we placed our order, our server did not once stop by to ask us how we were doing or if we needed drink refills during our wait. This couldnât be from lack of noticing our presence as we were seated squarely in the center of the dining room and he walked passed us many times without so much as a glance. When the pizza finally came he mentioned something about an issue in the kitchen. This is just unacceptable behavior for a server at a restaurant aiming to serve food at the prices they are asking. Perhaps he was having a bad night, or just thought a pizza wasnât worth his effort for the tip he would receive on the bill? When the pizza finally arrived, it was okay. I wouldnât necessarily say no to sharing a pizza with someone again, by I think there are likely better things on the menu to choose from. Iâll probably return and try again because I like to support small businesses and restaurants and growing pains are understandable.

It had been two years since our last visit to this area/restaurant. This was the first work night for our college student waiter (Cole). In response to our many questions, he had the new chef personally came out to assist with our dinner selections. The seafood chowder was full of tasty morsals and excellent. My chicken Marsala was really good and my guests trout was well prepared and terrific. The baked potatoes were hot and tasty as were the mixed vegetables. We cut Cole some slack for his first night and left him with a tip he will remember.

After visiting the Mount Mitchell park, we stopped for lunch since there's nothing else around!!! Short wait, free flavored water, and an observation deck with rocking chairs that it's worth the stop!!! Food was average, tasty, hit the spot after a short hike. Great peach cobbler!!!

We visit here at least twice a year- normally itâs mor choice and faster service. Food was just okay and very overpriced. The dining room seemed dirty and sticky. Staff was trying to get people served but orders were consistently wrong and the cornbread tasted like chemicals. I have seen cleaner bus station bathroom and NO soap in the ladies room- isnât this a health code violation? Just basically nasty and in terrible disrepair. Save your money and go elsewhere but the view is wonderful.

The owner of the campground (Mike @ Mountain View Family Campground) we stayed at recommended Pig & Grits. The food was awesome! The service was so friendly. Our entrees were only $10. I had pulled pork, hush puppies, onion rings and Brussels sprouts (Amazing!). Others in my group had the coleslaw, hot apples, sweet potato and fries. All of these sides were good. The guys finished their meals and left with stuffed bellies. The women left with leftovers. It was fun to try all of their different sauces. I think the mustard one was the table favorite.Thank you Janet for your wonderful words and your fabulous review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your total Pig & Grits experience and would love the opportunity to serve your group again.
