Have had the pleasure of enjoying a meal at Truffelaer several times in the past 2-3 years while on business in the Eindhoven area. It seems that Fine and Truffelaer “duke it out” for the #1 restaurant rating in Veldhoeven. Since the spring, the restaurant has been remodeled/refreshed and the kitchen appears to be somewhat enlarged. The colours are the new modern grey tones, which I find quite relaxing though several in our party of 11 did not like the revised scheme. The main dining area is much more open and pleasant than before (10 of 11 had been before and we all agreed). Several people took the 3 or 4 course surprise menu while the balance of the crew ordered from the menu> this is normally a problem in local restaurants but our server and the kitchen rose to the occasion. Across the board, we were all pleased with our meals. Wine selection by the glass is super and good value for money. The wine list is above average and well priced though the selection could be better in my view.Overall, a very good experience and value for money. Recommend.

La Fleurie

We had a family lunch in the separate Tuinkamer. Airconditioning helped as it was one of the warmer days of the year. After a nice welcome and bubbles, the three course menu (choices for starter, main and desert) was good. Very nice presentation and timely service. The food was good but perhaps somewhat overcomplicated with too many ingredients fighting for recognition. We heard no complaints and everyone enjoyed the beautiful plates. The extra charge for a cheese board instead of sweet desert was a bit excessive but the cheese selection was ok. House wines are priced slightly too high for the quality. The friandises should be changed - the current selection is not great nor are the tastes very well balanced. All in all a very nice lunch and we gladly return. Service is friendly.
