The restaurant is among the few ones opened on a Sunday in the area of Waalwijk-Sprang-Capelle and the location seemed nice. When we arrived there, it was quite animated with locals, so we assumed it to have good food.Unfortunately, this was not the case: they had the strangest combinations of food we have ever eaten. The menu was only in Dutch so we relied upon the translations of the waiter. We wanted a healthy dinner based on salad and we received the strangest salad ever: a cow-meat salad with cow meat in blood, with a lot of mayonnaise, and no fresh vegetables (all boiled: boiled asparagus, boiled radish and some boiled violet staff that looked something between a potato and a carrot). The dinner was more than 30 EUR/person, with only orange juice and water as drinks I imagine the alcoholic drinks would have doubled the price).I would not recommend it, but the choices in the neighborhood are quite poor.

On our search for a Saturday night dinner we ended up at "Bij Anton" on the large new square in the center of Kaatsheuvel. The restaurant is on the north side of a large building that also houses the public library and the town hall. They have a lot of seats outside but also many tables inside. Nevertheless it was almost full when we arrived, without a reservation. Fortunately there was still one table for two available and when we were seated the waitress came to ask for our order. As we had not seen a menu yet we ordered that first and we got English menus although we are Dutch. But at least we could go through the menu choices and also ordered some wine by the glass, which is not expensive but only small glasses. Taste of their house wines was surprisingly good though. We ordered soups as a starter, followed by a main dish. I had 2 types of game which tasted delicious. My partner had a steak but although she ordered medium it was served almost rare which was a bit of a mistake. When we told the waitress afterwards she told us that we should have said that earlier so that they had a chance to rectify it. But the place was so crowded that the food would have been cold by then so we ate it as it came. Quality of the dishes was surprisingly good as well and we were quite happy having made this choice. Maybe on another day or time the place is a bit less crowded but for the food you should consider this restaurant. Might also be a good address for a hot or cold lunch. Prices are very reasonable here too by the way.

The restaurant is located north of Efteling (a few minutes drive) and really close to the hotel we stayed in - the NH Waalwijk. The waitresses were very nice, and the design inside was cute in a fine way. It seems to be a place where the locals spend their time in a nice atmosphere, and it wasn't too crowded. The food was mostly Dutch, with a little Indonesian influences. We got the food after 20-30 minutes after reservation (which made us a little anxious), but when we got it we were very please - both from the sight and the taste of it.I can only say, that every dish we got was between good and excellent, and if I'll ever be in that part of the Netherlands again, I will surely come back

This wonderful restaurant us a delight to find in a middle of a town not known for its culture. The restaurant is in one of the oldest buildings in Holland and it us atmospheric without looking tired. The staff are excellent and very knowledgable and speak perfect English. The menu is varied and food is cooked from fresh and is exquisite in its taste. They have a large array of wine to choose from and when you leave the establishment you feel you have had value for money. Excellent and will hurry back again soon!

We just finished dinner at T'Slot one hour ago. I couldn't wait to write a positive review.I had the chicken burger and my wife had the beef teriyaki with noodles. Both were excellent. This was combined with helpful, courteous, speedy service.A great choice in Waalwijk.

Taking the (monthly changing) menu of the Month is a joy and at this pricerange simply cant be beaten. You can take 3, 4, 5 or 6 courses (and with good matching wines) based on biological ingredients handpicked from the best local farmers. The result is definitaly a night to remember, both food/taste wise and service wise. This restaurant might become your referencepoint when going out for dinner :)

Eetcafé Kandinsky stands for honest, good food in a cozy friendly environment. Lunch, diner or small bites on our terrace or restaurant. The art of enjoyment!
Staying at Efteling and wanted to eat somewhere off-site so decided to go into Waalwijk (10 minutes drive). Chose the Kandinsky as it is in the centre and good ratings. Great choice! The sharing platters to start are something different with smoked tuna, duck, oysters, etc. We tried a few main courses - veal was great, burgers fantastic, fish of the day excellent, pasta very tasty. Really can't fault the food at all - and the service also very good. In fact, we went back the night after for a repeat performance. Best to book so you're not disappointed!
