This island, with its fast and fickle tides, was a notorious prison during the French Revolution. Today, visitors arrive by choice, seeking to explore the 11th-century abbey, dine in fine restaurants and take in the impressive evening illuminations. Only a narrow causeway built in 1880 links the island to the mainland, although a bridge is due to be completed in 2012.

No wonder its among the high rated places in Mont Saint Michel even when its a tiny place. Its because every other places is so bad. Its a little bakery with a lot of varieties of sandwishes to choose. The prices are cheap and quality is amazing. I really recommend this place instead of going to the restaurants around which are really bad.

This was the busiest place during pre-season so we decided to have dinner there as well. It is very nice with the evening sun, and they have plenty of tables outside. The menu is quite big and offers many choices. The portion sizes are quite big, the food is very tasty. We especially enjoyed the antipasto platter and the pot with little mussels in cream sauce. We ordered more bread, so that nothing got left behind in this pot. For the prime location of this place, we were positively surprise how affordable the dinner was. Would go there any time again.

The setting of this restaurant was the reason we decided to stay late and dine onsite before driving back to our hotel.Beautiful food, wine and a little bit pricier than other restaurants we stopped off at but in comparison with Irish restaurants very reasonable.Just a note, the French omelette which is very popular here is very different to what we are used to. Itâs very soft and a little too undercooked for my taste but thatâs just a heads up as this is how it is presented

We were not sure about any of the restaurants on the mount itself as most reviews say the food is poor. Not this place. The restaurant is clean and with a nice atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the food was very good. Add to that the great views across the bay from the restaurant and not much better to find. If you check the restaurant out during the day before deciding, don't be put off by the cafe downstairs as that is for daytime, and is closed at night when you go upstairs to the main restaurant.

Classified as a Tourism Restaurant, the Le Pré Salé invites you to come and taste its local specialities. At the foot of Mont Saint-Michel and its abbey, the restaurant is in an exceptional setting which will tempt the world's gourmets.
The restaurant has a clean and modern decor. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The service is friendly. But, they are serving many tables. The presentation of the dishes is excellent. But, the flavors were not balanced and they ended being just ok in flavor. The prices are on the reasonable side.

Chose this restaurant after our visit to Mont Saint Michel as it stated it was vegetarian friendly - this is not accurate at all.Out of the entire menu there are only 4 vegetarian choices: one starter (plain omelette) and 3 vegetable side dishes. Being vegetarian. I was very disappointed with the restaurant description. However the staff were happy to combine the omelette start with one of the vegetable side dishes (Kumbawa crispies: a whole grain couscous thingy with cherry tomatoes and a little more salad). Both were freshly prepared. Their combined price was similar to the meat main dishes. The meat-eaters in the rest of my group were very impressed with the meat options and quality of food provided. Their response has pushed my rating up from3/5 to 4/5.The restaurant was clean and tidy. The staff were polite and spoke English relatively well. There was plenty of tables and we didnât need to reserve a table in advance.

Despite as slight misunderstanding over if lunch was available or not we were quickly shown to a delightful little upstairs restaurant and selected the special menu of galette, then crepe and cidre. Delicious and just what was needed for a late lunch after a morning on the Mont and Abbey visit. Good value and very tasty.

On our road-trip in France the coach stopped near to the location âLe Mont-Saint-Michelâ to have lunch with our group of 37 persons. The restaurant was âLe Ferme Saint Michelâ, who is close to the terminal of the âShuttle Coachesâ to the âMont-Saint-Michelâ,The restaurant was a good choice also in that option, the staff was very friendly, a very nice location, and a good service, and also the food was more than ok. Even the location was completely filled up with clients, there was no hurry in the table service and not allot of waiting to get served. We did not took pictures from the inside because of the amount of people inside, but an interesting point are the old chariots on the outside. To resume this location, good place, good food, good service and close to the shuttle serve to the Mont-Saint-Michel, and enough parking for coach and cars.Thank you for your detailed opinion on your dining experience. Groups as individual customers, the on-site team works every day for a service to match. Come back when you want.
