Discover Restaurants offering the best French food in Honfleur, Normandy, France. Honfleur, a harbor in Normandy, was popular with Impressionist painters like Monet and Boudin. They found its changing light and picturesque quays inspiring—and even today, if you return to the same spot every day to take a photo, you'll find no two are the same. On Saturday, visit the town's lively market and stock up on local cheese.

Cosy place that serves excellent hot chocolate and a wide selection of gauffres. We found this restaurant while exploring the city on a Friday afternoon and we popped in half an hour before it was closing. The owner was very welcoming and polite and we went for a cup of hot chocolate paired with some apple based desserts, excellent flavours at a decent price. I was pleasantly surprised with the strong hot chocolate, not too sweet and the apple crumble was absolutely divine.

We were so looking forward to eating here based on reviews weâd read. Amateurish service. Stale bread (in France?)No English written explanations and the verbal explanations didnât match the dish. We understand the basics but need the details explained. What was the problem though, the Duck (requested pink) came red. It was very difficult to cut and just as difficult to chew. It lacked flavour as did the accompanying cauliflower âpuréeâ, which had a most unpleasant texture. My hot chocolate pudding was described by the waitress as a mousse. There was no attempt to make enquires as to why they kept taking 1/2 eaten plates away. The soup was pleasant as was the Caprese Salad. No cooking required but flavoursome tomatoes and vinaigrette.

I took advantage of a business trip to visit Honfleur. LâEscale was recommended to me by a French colleague so I went for dinner. It was amazing! Floriente and the owner Jerome served the entire restaurant all night and did an amazing job!! I have not seen such impressive service in France. The oysters of Normandy were great. Followed by sea bass which also was great! The dessert recommended was the fruit plate...normally not my choice. Also great! I will come back to this very unique town and no doubt eat at LâEscale!!

Visited here one evening for dinner. We entered the restaurant and were shown to a table by the lady out front. There were no other tables occupied. We sat and waited. We were smiled at but there was no other form of communication from the restaurant staff whatsoever! We sat for around 15 minutes - waiting for something to happen. I asked the girl behind the reception desk if we could have a drink and menus and she smiled. We did not wait any longer and voted with our feet! We left! I think this is not the way to treat customers and visitors to your country. I would not return here and obviously I can not recommend it or the food as I did not eat or drink anything.

This restaurant is located close to, but not in Honfleur. Its "claim to fame" is its menu featuring local dishes- from Basse Normnady. It has been awarded TripAdvisor's prised "Certificate of Excellence" over each of the past 4 years. The service is very friendly, "professional" as well as helpful. The cost is much lower than at the nearby fine dining restaurants [only 19 euro for a 3 course meal]. While not on the very busy "tourist track", it is well worth a visit.I hope that this Review has been helpful.Thank you Mark. See you again

We came to Honfleur for a day trip and were lucky enough to be seated for dinner at this fantastic restaurant without reservation. The service was superb. Friendly, accommodating and professional. We came here with two kids and it was a great place to eat. The food was simply the best throughout our stay in the Normandie region. Super fresh, full of flavour and well-presented. Honestly, we could not fault this place, and would like to come back next time we visit the region!

Gosh - at the best of times French cuisine can flatter to deceive. This place gave it to you straight between the eyes. Yesterdayâs chips served with a sparrowâs arse of a chicken breast fried to its pitiful death and served in a teaspoonful of nondescript sauce. Surely a yardstick for not giving a **** about your customer
