Visited twice in the last couple of months. A Pub, Restaurant feel it offers a good selection of salads, burgers, pizzas, flammekuche and the like. Large portions and good beer. We especially liked the salads. Service is pleasant and hardworking, with decent English, if you need it!

We all had the mid range menu and everything was just right - we all had different choices as well. We left feeling full up and slightly tipsy.

Pleasant service and clearly a popular place. It was mostly reserved for the evening and we managed to get one of the only free tables. We had a very good terrine, duck confit and entrecôte. All yummy enough for us to want a pud as well. Good wine and nice atmosphere.

We've been to Alencon twice before, always staying in the excellent Hotel des Ducs. But we'd eaten in the same restaurant twice. Not the one recommended by the hotel, which was close by, as we'd been when it was closed for the Xmas holidays and then on its weekly closed day. We thought we'd try it this time, closed for summer holidays! We walked round much of the town looking for an alternative and stumbled across this restaurant tucked away down a back street. They were offering a Moules special in July which was a surprise, we assume rope grown. The restaurant was very busy from the time it opened at 7, and the food was excellent. Very good service, reasonably priced and the moules were first rate. Apart from 2 American students 3 tables away we were the only non-French people here so far as we could tell, which in a busy restaurant tells you much. How did we know the students were American? Their conversation (it sounded like a first, probably last, date) was extremely loud, although they were oblivious. Entertaining though.

But nothing sensational! We arrived circa 6:30 to an almost empty restaurant to be told that they had no room inside... but we were welcome to sit outside... to drum up trade? The owner insisted in speaking English in response to our French... rude! The pizza was ok and quickly delivered but we were offered no seasoning nor chilli oil and had to chase up our drinks. We finished with a slice of luke warm Tarte Tatin which had a soggy bottom and a burnt layer... overall not fabulous. Wouldn't come again even if we were in Alençon.

Been for lunch with family. Baby welcome. Smily welcome with pleasant service. The food range was amazingly creative and abundant. The young chef and owner is able to mix aromas and tastes. Presentation of dishes is modern and colourful.Plates are copiously arranged.definitely a place to revisit and highly recommended.Booking in advance needed to make sure to have a table. At last a very decent place to eat in Alençon...

Nice good food!! Really nice portions!!! Good taste! Strong recommend! Open to 23:00 on Mondays which was a nice surprise as the restaurant is in a such small place where most of the other restaurants closes earlier

Good burger. But service was a bit over-stretched - they found a table for us but they probably should've suggested that we come back when things were quieter. It was rather hot in the restaurant - it would've been better with aircon or effective ventilation

We selected this restaurant based on reviews by TripAdvisor. The place has a premium appearance and matching service, really very good and enjoyable. The food did not keep up with this. The starter was reasonable, though not surprising in any way. The main course truly failed to deliver on expectation. The fish appeared not fresh and rather dry. The pea paste was dead, dry and nearly tasteless. Maybe the chef was away on holiday and this was just a bad exception. Wine on the other hand was very good and the price is very moderate for a place like this. We give 4 out of 5 for the overall experience regardless of the disappointing food.

Despite being the only restaurant next to my hotel, the food was amazing! French food done to its finest! Staff were excellent as not French speaking they helped me with the menu to decide what I wanted. I was not disappointed, wine was good too. Restaurant was tidy clean and nicely made up. I had a 2 course dinner x3 large glasses wine â¬43! Bargain !
