Had 2 breakfasts at Chatuchak cafe while I was a guest at Centara Ladprao. Ate there on 19 Aug and 20 Aug. 19 Aug was ok. Food was well spread and perhaps fresh cos I was there at around 7.30am for breakfast. But 20 Aug was a nightmare. There was this one dish "5 mins eggs". I asked the chef if it was soft-boiled eggs (I love having soft boiled eggs in the morning, with some dash of soy sauce and pepper). The chef said, yes. But when I cracked open the eggs, instead of runny soft yolk, the yolk was hard and solid. I asked a waiter in a nice black jacket to re-do my eggs cos I wanted the egg soft-boiled. He came back a few minutes later with a pair of hot eggs. When I cracked it open this time, it turned out RAW. I had to get the perfect eggs on my third attempt. Quite miserable. Surely a full kitchen can cook eggs well right? The rest of the food was so-so okay. Not something you'd wake up in the morning for, but if it comes with your hotel stay, then just have the essential coffee and porridge. The rest of the menu just isn't worth exploring. To think that a farang in nice black jacket came to observe the food, perhaps on the manager's morning rounds. Well done observing, but next time, try tasting or even cracking a 5-minute egg to see if the yolk runs or stays solid. Do the job well. Customers are watching.

I will here one night solo just looking for a bite to eat and was impressed.Great atmosphere very cheap pricing on all food and drinks. The service staff were very friendly and assisted and recommended dishes for a western palate even though I really was after traditional Thai fare.Impressed will visit again and recommend to friends.

First off this restaurant is inside the Impact Challenger convention centre in Bangkok so I dont really see it as a "destination" restaurant or place really I would ever go except when I am attending an event. However it was surprisingly good and very surprisingly cheap. I was expecting overblown prices since your kinda trapped in the venue like most venues operate back in Canada. Your $2 dog becomes $8 because its in a convention centre or arena. Not the case at all here. The food was excellent very, very reasonably priced although the portion size was quite small. I had fish and chips for 120THB this is normally most places Ive spotted it in Thailand 280THB+++. It came it was pretty tiny but guess what it was so cheap I ordered a second order to get myself a proper feed and still paid less then I can remember paying anywhere else in Thailand! The fish was very fresh, beautifully cooked with a batter that was kind of cross between proper english and tempura and was very tasty. My wife had Tom Yum Goong and complained it wasnt good but I tried it and it was delicious.... her problem after I asked was it was not really spicy at all and Yom Yum is supposed to burn your face off.... truth even I found it not very spicy but it was still a really tasty soup. Our son had chicken fried rice and it was excellent too.All in all despite the small portion size I will definitely eat here again next time Im at a show in the centre.
