Reviews on British food in Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt. The Luxor in Las Vegas is to the actual CITY of Luxor, Egypt, as marshmallow fluff is to fois gras. (We’re sure you knew that. We just enjoy analogies.) Sure, the hotel/casino in Vegas might have a beam of light visible from space, but we bet you'll find a hot-air balloon ride over the Valley of Kings much more illuminating. (Editor's note: Our list was compiled before political unrest prompted many countries to issue travel warnings for Egypt. If you're currently planning a trip to Egypt, please consider the risks and monitor your government's travel alerts.)

Newly refurbished, under new management and name 'Castello Restaurant & Cafe' New menu, fresh ingredients daily.
I know it has been a while since I've been there, but better late than never! I am so glad that other people have found this little gem and are continuing to enjoy the great service and food. I was staying a few nights at the Steigenberger Hotel in Luxor, and I like to venture out and take in some of the local flavor in a new place. I had not wandered very far at all before I came across Castello, and was so happy that I did. Absolutely the most welcoming and friendly dining experience, and the food was fantastic. Budget friendly, too! I wish I could have eaten every meal there. The wood fired pizza was delicious, as well as a vegetable dish (eggplant, etc.) in tomato sauce, kind of like a lasagna, but called something else that I can't remember. Please, give Castello your business when visiting Luxor, and you will not be sorry!

I stayed at Hilton Luxor near from this property. During my stay once I took my dinner here. Fortunately it was a Irish Night so I could have Irish Stew, which I found very tasty. The property has two floors, of which the lower is a bar space, where you can eat also, and the upper is a restaurant. That night there was a SUFI dance performance in a bar space. I enjoyed a lot.The service was also very much good and friendly Very reasonablly priced !

I live on the west bank so rarely go to east bank restaurants but after last Friday that is going to change. What a great evening. I had the cottage pie with cheese which was absolutely great. One of my companions had the liver which I tasted really nice. By coincidence it was pub quiz night, what fun. We didnt leave until midnight, had enormous fun.

Pretty much 12 months have passed since our last visit, and its still a great place to visit for drinks (cheap) and dinner (also cheap). The staff are really friendly. The beer is served ice cold and the barman know how to make a mean cocktail! The mojito and the Long Island ice tea are especially good. We ate a number of different burgers and they're well cooked, served with fries and very filling. We'll definitely be going back next time we're in Luxor.
