Discover Restaurants offering the best Mediterranean food in Luxor, Nile River Valley, Egypt. The Luxor in Las Vegas is to the actual CITY of Luxor, Egypt, as marshmallow fluff is to fois gras. (We’re sure you knew that. We just enjoy analogies.) Sure, the hotel/casino in Vegas might have a beam of light visible from space, but we bet you'll find a hot-air balloon ride over the Valley of Kings much more illuminating. What looks rather inconspicuous from the outside is rather charming inside. Not at ground level as this is only the take away part. Rather travel in the lift to the fourth floor to the rooftop terrace. If youâre lucky enough you may get a seat at the front but never mind if you donât, sometimes itâs good to have the shade. The food was expensive by Egyptian standards for what it was. I had the tagine mousakka which was nothing more than watery tomato sauce with a few bits of aubergine and potato floating around. The tast was poor and suggested that the chef was not any kind of expert. The other tagine with chicken on the other hand was a different dish altogether. It was both flavoursome and contained meat!Afterwards I had the mango smoothie which was most enjoyable and a shushes pipe with lemon and mint. So to sum up the food was two stars and the location and views 4 to five stars.

We spent a lot of time here during our 4 months in Luxor. Simple delicious food, friendly atmosphere, great service and gorgeous cats in abundance. Beautiful garden cafe with a tranquil relaxed atmosphere - perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Khaled is a wonderful host and always a joy to see him, his staff and the lovely pusscats. We will be back soon!

Marsam Restaurant is a bit off the usual tourist trail but it is definitely a hidden gem on the West Bank. The restaurant is set in the garden courtyard of an old "dig house" (place where archeologists boarded while in the area) that's been converted to a hotel. The hotel typically still hosts archaeologists so the place has a great grassroots, genuine vibe. The courtyard is very nice. The trees provide very welcome shade and the restaurant has fans blowing water-cooled air which also provide some much-needed reprieve from the oppressive Egyptian heat. The menu here is quite small but everything they offer is excellent. We visited as a party of 7 and ordered a wide range of the menu options. Everyone was very happy with their food. The service here was excellent. Our waiter tended to our every need, provided out kids with necklaces as parting gifts, and even called us a taxi.I can't stress how good our experience here was. It's most definitely worth a stop while you're exploring the sights on the West Bank of Luxor.

The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. Friendly service and lovely view of the Nile. It's located a five minute walk from the ferry terminal on the West Bank, so easy to get to if you're staying on the East Bank, (which we were). We went back two nights in a row because we were so impressed. No alcohol served but bar next door so we had a drink first and then went for food!

I live on the west bank so rarely go to east bank restaurants but after last Friday that is going to change. What a great evening. I had the cottage pie with cheese which was absolutely great. One of my companions had the liver which I tasted really nice. By coincidence it was pub quiz night, what fun. We didnt leave until midnight, had enormous fun.

There are several eateries within the hotel: poolside, Italian, Lebanese, and Moevenpick icecream. Poolside served a decent club sandwich, though a bit dry. We had a group dinner in the Lebanese place, also ok nothing special, service rather slow for our group. Breakfast is very good in the upstairs room.Dear LDWG,Thank you very much for choosing to stay at the Steigenberger Nile Palace. Your comments have been forwarded to our Management team and will be added to our ongoing training plan. We hope you will be able to visit us again soon and maybe opt for a culinary evening at our Thai restaurant or the Italian Casa di Napoli. With best regards,Amina Saady van BaarsenGuest Relation Manager

Donât pay attention about the entrance.. it can be scary but once you are upstairs, you can appreciate the roof and the Nile view. We tried their special beef and the chicken and banana meals, it was the best lunch we had all over Egypt. The owners are kind, and itâs very cheap. You must go there is you are in the East bank.

Brand new establishment, fully refurbished, experienced and professional staff, fresh ingredients daily.
I passed this restaurant during the day, noticed its charming exterior and was delighted when my friend took me there that night. Aisha is warm and friendly from the minute you walk in. The food was delicious. I usually like to try different restaurants but Aisha was so good, I went there several nights. Salads, bread, tagines are amazing. Make sure you save room for dessert. Everything fresh and homemade. Servers are so pleasant and take care of your every need. Highly recommend.
