Rancho Santana, set serenely in the Southwest Pacific offers a collection of distinctive seaside experiences. Though little more than two hours from Nicaragua's capital city of Managua by car, the property has grown into a quiet community that enjoys purity, authenticity, and a somehow romantically rustic elegance. Both residential and resort, "the ranch" boasts over 2,700 acres of majestic land along two miles of shoreline which include five unique beaches. And while this paradise is the perfect setting to do nothing at all but sunbathe and stargaze, its remarkable range of terrain, unique climate and soothing coastal breezes make it a coveted destination for the more active and adventurous traveler. Tucked between the open sea and the immense Lake Nicaragua, "the ranch" has the distinction of being one of the only isthmuses on the entire Pacific Ocean. This unique geographical phenomenon creates gentle tropical breezes, which when paired with year-round warm ocean waters make the beaches' surfing conditions some of the most coveted on the planet. With the early sunrise, "shredders" of all ages and origins take to the breaks of Las Cinco Playas de Rancho Santana, which include some of the world's most vertical waves, providing both visual drama as well as world-class surfing. Lookers-on walk the water's edge watching the surfers dance across the waves while just yards behind them fisherman bring in what will be the evening's fresh catch in the clubhouse's renowned restaurant, La Finca y el Mar.
Rancho Santana is a very special place. We've been back several times now, and each time it keeps getting better. The newest addition: the Spa, is beautiful and peaceful and incredible. We just love making memories with our family at Rancho. Whether it's some sangria on the patio, some fun swims, sandboarding at Playa Duna, sweating it out in the gym at Fun Limon, or the delicious food at ALL the F&B offerings......just perfection!

Rented a room for a few months, perfect location, amazing host, rooms are very clean and comfortable. Price is right. If you plan a long stay in Big Corn this is the place to be, the host will accommodate everything that is possible for your stay, I got a kitchen!

We stayed in the second bungalow over the water and it was a little rustic but great. The beds were really comfortable and we loved sitting out on the deck just watching the birds and the boats. The only reasons this is not a 5 star review are the following: no key to the room, there was a string to pull to open the door. A previous guest left with the last key, I assumed it had just happened and the lock would be changed during our stay (4 nights), that was not the case. The boat tour to the cays was amazing but due to a communication breakdown we were not informed that we had to preorder anything we wanted to drink until we got to the island and the staff there did not even tell us about the free water available, it made for a thirsty day so be sure to preorder anything you want to drink. Nuria was very apologetic about the situation and did compensate us. I will admit that when Nuria came over to talk to us I was not in the best of moods and I put her customer service skills to the test but she never lost her cool. She is a true professional and cares about her guests. Every meal we had there was very good and they were willing to alter the meals to cater to my husband's diet. Just be aware that because of the remote location, not all menu items are available all the time. There is secure parking just down the street at their other hotel. There is really nothing to do in town, the Cay tour is about it but it is worth the drive, that, and for me staying in an over the water bungalow. That was on my travel bucket list.

La Estancia de Don Francisco welcomes you to Jinotega and wishes you a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Jolanda was an amazing and accommodating hostess. I was there with a small group and she took great care of us. She folded our clothes, made our beds, and freshened our rooms with great care. She made us feel at home. The rooms were clean and spacious and I'd definitely stay there again.

I showed up to Little Corn with my wife and two teenaged daughters without a place to stay. I had done a lot of homework on all the different lodgings, but couldn’t make up my mind. We settled on Grace’s Place because it was Oceanside, Affordable and had WiFi. (WiFi elimated several other reasonable options.) Sure, I could have spent 8 times the money for a more luxurious place just down the road, but I don’t regret our decision. I can’t speak for all the rooms, but the Oceanside cabana was a great value. We spent the majority of our time on the chairs and hammock on our front porch or exploring the island. Pros: great location, awesome views, wind constantly blowing, cheap, rooms were basic but charming. Cons: It’s perhaps a bit too rustic for some. My daughter called it “luxurious camping.” It would have been nice if the shower had a curtain or the bathroom had a door. This place is amazing if you have the proper expectations. It’s no 5-star Hilton resort... but it’s really great for the price. If you come here expecting luxury (warm water, a/c, finely woven rugs and fancy headboards), you’ll be disappointed. Andrew was a great resource and cool dude. The kitchen staff were awesome as well. Breakfast was basic but good. If you’re willing to deal with the cool showers and rustic charm, this is the place for you. Location - 5/5 Staff - 5/5 Amenities - 3/5 Value - 5/5

Do not recommend this place. The owner was very unfriendly and aggressive. She also have two aggressive dogs, which she have no control over. She screamed at us for no reason while her huge dogs barked at us. Stay away!

As I was leaving little Corn Island to get my flight out Big Corn island, I advised to go there one day earlier, because boats between the islands are nit always going. So I did and I didn't regret it! after walking round the island I choose picnic hostel and cafe - restaurant to stay. the choice was right! nice accommodation, but the best deal is the beach in front.Very calm and clean, sunbeds to lay on free and nice restaurant with good and cheap food and drinks.

Our group of 16 enjoyed staying at this hotel for one night. We used six rooms, all part of one building high up on the property with a great porch view (though no hammocks to sit in!) We know that not many groups and visitors have been coming to Solentiname lately, so we were grateful to find a place that could host and feed our group. The boat ride (private) was about 1 hour from San Carlos. We enjoyed all three meals we ate; loved that they were served family style! Rooms were clean (though bugs loved to try to enter!) with some minor maintenance issues (door knobs, leaks). Electricity is intermittent on the island, and so the fans stopped in the night, which meant we didn't sleep super-well. But I suppose that is part of the island experience. We had a nice trip over to Mancarron, which we'd highly recommend for a late afternoon walk. On San Fernando, we enjoyed walking the sidewalk up and down the town, checking out the gallery of paintings (which they opened just for us), and meeting very friendly neighbors who taught us about cacoa and showed off their own artwork, as well as helped us feed their turtles in the lake:) We enjoyed jumping off the dock and swimming in the lake; a nicer swimming area would be nice as it was HOT! All in all, if you are up for a remote experience, this was a nice hotel and may be the very best option that is open as of spring 2021.

My sister and I stayed here in between catching our flight out. I would definitely recommend. This hotel is also called "Ike's place" The owner, Ike provided excellent full service from picking us at up at the ferry docks, taking us for a tour of the island and providing transportation to the airport, In addition to solving minor travel inconveniences. (Make sure you keep your flight tickets, as they do not reissue). Ike was kind enough to check our room for our tickets, found them and had a taxi drive them to the airport for us. The accommodations are basic, but include all amenities A/C, refrigerator, TV and the room was very clean. The rooms have a phenomenal view of the sunset and within walking distance to 3 restaurants and you can snorkel right across the street.
