Found this by accident. We were walking around the lake front in Newport and found this place judging by the crowd we weren't the only ones. Dozens of flavor both hard and soft with many specials to choose from. I had a medium-sized and it was plenty.

Ate here on a recent visit influenced by glowing Trip Advisor reviews and thoroughly enjoyed it! Ordered my favorite noodle dish, Pad See-Ew, prepared to perfection! Restaurant was fairly crowded for a Wednesday evening, always a good sign. Service was exceptionally warm and friendly, would definitely return when back in this area.

We thought that we'd try a new place. Passed by this place many times and it was always closed. We finally got lucky on a Friday night. Instead of going to Eastside, we decided to give this one a try.
We first ordered drinks and appetizers while we studied the menu. We ordered margaritas and they were terrible. We decided to ask for the check and move to another restaurant.

Famous for it's hearty comfort food, the East Side offers fine dining on the shores of beautiful Lake Memphremagog. When you're traveling, nothing hits the spot better than a homemade buttermilk biscuit with chicken, gravy, real mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. If you have room for the bake shops, dessert of the month, you'll know why the East Side has been a Newport, VT favorite for years. The Dancing Sail Banquet Room's elegant waterfront dining room and terrace open onto a garden courtyard to create the ideal setting for a story book Vermont wedding. Whether you are hosting a business meeting, birthday celebration, or special occasion dinner, the East Side is the perfect choice for all occasions.
We had breakfast today at the Eastside Restaurant & Pub, they have a really nice buffet on Sunday mornings. The have an excellent location right on Lake Memphremagog. They have plenty of parking. The service was very efficient and friendly. Their buffet was excellent. They had plenty of choices and something for everyone.
I highly recommend that you give them a try when in the area!

Serving Breakfast and Lunch only. Friendly staff. Excellent food. Reasonable prices.
We were four adults looking for a morning carb loading breakfast. That's all they serve from daybreak until 1:00 pm when they close. Portions are healthy and the coffee is plentiful. I had the 'cow plop', my wife the quesadilla and our friends a 3 egg omlette and belgian waffles with maple syrup. Tummies were properly filled. Servers were friendly and the soda fountain stools were still in use. A meal to write home about!

I have been to this restaurant several times in the past month...once in a group of 9, once in a group of 6 and once as a clouple, and each time it has been excellent. It is informal and friendly, and never seems to be crowded. They have a good beer and cider selection, and the sandwiches and salads are really good. I have had reuben sliders, a pulled chicken sandwich, and a quinoa salad. All were great. A real treat to find a place this good in the Northeast Kingdom. Prices are low for what you get. Service is friendly and accommodating, although it takes a while for your food to arrive.

Italian Cuisine-specializing in local products.03'04'05'09 Yankee Magazine, Editors Pick10/11 VT Vows preferred caterersChef owned
This is obviously a beloved, popular spot and a cut above most of the other places in town. The Italian dishes include all the standards, but a few unusual offerings like wild boar pasta and creative salads. The pasta is cooked perfectly al dente, and portions offer an "abbondanza." Service is well meaning but not very efficient: We came without a reservation at 7:30 pm on a Monday. We were warmly greeted, but then left to stand waiting (with no check-ins/updates) for some 25 minutes, watching an empty table (which we later were given). It took quite a while to get our food after sitting down as well. Allow yourself plenty of time.

I really enjoy this place: local products cooked in a simple "diner-style" environment. The are excellent, terrific mac & cheese. The friend fries are well into "best ever" territory. A small but excellent selection of VT beers and ciders. There's an adjacent store with many of the local products for sale: cider, maple syrup, cheeses, and so on. This is one of my go-to places when I'm in the NEK.
