What an awesome place. Great food, great service. We landed here 10 minutes before last orders and the folks were great. The mussels were fabulous - both the curry and the white wine. The fresh coffee was blackened to perfection. The scallops were so good, our more picky friend left the plate totally clean. I wish we'd had room for dessert! Thanks so much to this great team.

Great local and Irish fare with great service. Live music nightly featuring the best of Newfounland folk and Irish musicians. Owned by D'Arcy Broderick, formerly of Irish Descendents and Fables bands.
The beer is cold, the food is decent. Came in twice as this is a good place to come in for a drink and listen to some great live music. However came in for wings and was pretty disappointed. Very fatty wings, almost slimy. Quantity was good, sauce was good, but the wings themselves... not so good. I was however intrigued by the irish breakfast but didnt have time to try it. Maybe next time.

Unfortunately the four orders of food we had were horrible, and service was slow. They ruined fish and chips, as everything was soaked in grease and tasted off. The burger was awful, and the two fish tacos were different from each other with an odd flavor. All four of us felt ill afterwards. Had we just gone for a beer, the atmosphere would have been enjoyable, but DO NOT EAT HERE! There are so many great restaurant options in the area, and this is NOT one of them. Expensive for the exceptionally disappointing food.Hi, I'm Cheyenne, a manager at The Celtic Hearth. Our Floor Manager, Larry Weisman would very much like to hear more about your visit and try to correct this situation. If you could call him at (709) 728-3519 we would greatly appreciate it.Thank you, Cheyenne

Not one to write bad reviews but very disappointed with the quality of food from this Irish Pub. The cod fish batter was saturated with grease and the chips were no better. O Reilly's is known for their live music which was good but the cuisine and their unfriendly staff needs some attention.

We usually visit this restaurant at least once per month ( four adults) the old menu was a favourite. Last night was our first visit with the new limited menu.We all ordered four different meal choices, from salmon, steak sandwich, hot turkey and pan fried cod. The meals were tasty but they were skimpy. The hot turkey came out open faced with the gravey bowl on the side on the plate, this left little room for the fries.Steak sandwich was filling, and delishous but also the dipping bowl was on the plate. I ordered sweet potato fries (1.75) and again there was little room on the plate due to the bowl being there. The other two meals were very skimpy as well, you were able to see a lot of empty plate. I would love to have the old menu back, maybe remove some items but keep the portions the same. Our server, as always was the best! At least they kept that the same.We will not be returning anytime soon...Hello meparadise2017Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. The quality of food was what I expected from a chain restaurant located next to our chain hotel. My desired entree choice was unavailable, so I had the chicken alfredo. The serving size was fine and the meal was okay but not great. My girlfriend had a burger, which seemed to be fine. We split an order of nachos, which were TERRIBLE. $15 for lousy nachos was a royal screwing. Again, food quality was what I expected, but we ate here due to convenience; it was the closest restaurant to our hotel, and we had to be up at 3 am to catch our flight the next morning. Wouldn't repeat.Hello, we are very sorry for the experience you had on your visit with us. Please fill out our short form at reviews.primepubsfeedback.com and reference 58140824-G0. We got the fish and chips, and they were amazing! All the fish we’ve had in St John’s was delicious but the Duke is Duckworth ones were the best. Also a nice ambiance, and friendly staff.

My friends and family have been visiting this establishment for years. This review is long over due. I can actually say we have never had one bad (even mediocre) experience here: The food here is ALWAYS hot and delicious. The wings are my absolute favorite. The servers are just wonderful. There are several servers who seem genuinely happy when they see us arrive and I believe they go the extra mile to make us and other patrons feel very welcomed. I have rented the bar area here for events, order take-out from here for my workplace for our annual Christmas luncheons, have come here with large groups of up to 20 and I have been here for date night with my husband or with a handful of friends. I can truly say that The Bigs in Mount Pearl are the best at what they do. They never disappoint. Hence why we keep coming back time and time again. Kudos to management and all staff. Consistently excellent.

Found my 8oz filet Mignon a bit tough but perfectly cooked. Hubbie's rib steak had too much gristle but cooked well. My baked potato was not as hot as it should have been. Spinach salad side was wonderful as was my Pink Paradise cocktail but at $10.50 a bit expensive. Was also sorry the drink menu was unavailable (under construction we were told). Waitress was very attentive and did regular quality checks. Overall was acceptable but I probably wouldn't go back.
