Went here for lunch one day since it had been a LONG time since we had been here. When my husband said to pick anywhere for lunch, I remembered how much I used to love their food and thought, "hey we haven't been here in a while". I couldn't remember why, so I thought it would be nice to re-visit them.
Inside we were seated immediately and given menus. It took a while for our server to come around to take our order, but someone else grabbed our drinks while we waited. We ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and ribs with fries/green beans. We were given a loaf of bread while we waited. Bread was very good. It took what seemed like forever to get our hot food, but was probably 20 minutes or so. My fries were drenched in salt. The ribs were also VERY salty. I couldn't even eat the fries they were so bad. I tried wiping the salt off, but it was just way too much!! When the waitress came around and asked how the food was, I hesitantly told her about the salt. She agreed after taking a look. She said she could actually see the salt piled on top of the fries. She took my food back to the kitchen and informed the chefs. Maybe about 5 minutes later the manager came over and apologized. They gave me a new order of ribs/fries/beans and even took the cost of my food off the bill. It was still saltier than I like, but was much better than the original order. Green beans were tasty on the plus side. AND my husband enjoyed his steak/mashed potatoes.
Overall, food was TOO SALTY. I think that is why we quit eating here in the first place. It's a shame because we used to like their food. I wish they would lighten up on the salt. It make it almost inedible. Atmosphere is comfortable and casual. Waitstaff was friendly. Management tried to correct issues to customer satisfaction and it was appreciated. However, the salt level is just not a match for our tastes. I don't think we will be back any time soon.

This place has some of thee worst food and service I have experienced in DE. They have a no takeout policy and even though my sister only ordered an appetizer they refused to let her order an entree because of the no take out rule. The waitress advised her she could order but she had to eat some of it so that they knew she wasn't just trying to take it to go. The waitress walks away and the manager walks over and says oh no, we cannot allow you to order anything else because of the no take out rule. When closing out our bill the waitress ask my sister for her card then says oh wait one second while a clear your table. My chicken tejas came cold... we were a mixed group regarding race, however my sister was borderline picked on! NEVER AGAIN

We have visited Taverna's several times in the past 2-3 years and always order the same dishes. My husband and I order the braised short ribs and my daughter orders a chicken dish. Previously the ribs were a standout- we would come for this dish alone. They changed the recipe so now "braised ribs" are served with potatoes, spinach and onions. No sauce, no polenta. Braised means cooking slowly in a sauce. The dish was like eating a dry beef stew. Not worth the money. I was still hungry after my 3inch square piece of dry meat. My daughter's chicken dish was also changed and it is now served on the bone. For this price it should be boneless!! I have previously rated this restaurant 5 stars. No more. Sorry Taverna- change it back.

25 Craftbrew Taphandles- all great beer, pub grub and hifgh end- example- foie gras burger, cheeseplate, mini corn dogs
My husband and I discovered two Stones Pub a couple years ago, it is around the corner from The BJs, located in a little strip mall. They have a wonderful beer selection and some nice cocktails.
Since I discovered the fois gras burger, I order it every time we go. I just can't help myself, it is delicious. I do not want to eat a burger anywhere else. It is perfectly prepared, medium rare every time. I'm watching my carbs, so I switched out the chips for asparagus. Delicious!

Our first visit to Iron Hill. Our server, Rose, was so pleasant and helpful. Although the menu has all kinds of great offerings, we just could not resist the burger options. My pimento burger was huge and delicious, with onions, pimento cheese mix, bacon, jalapenos and pickles. So good! But it was not cooked at Medium as requested--it was more a medium well, even though it was still good. Same for hubby's burger--he requested Medium Rare and the burger was more of a true Medium. Maybe they overcook them for health and safety reasons. Keep that in mind when ordering and you will be fine. The burgers were still very tasty, and we would definitely return.

Excellent cheesesteaks and Italian and other subs less than a mile off RT 95. So much better than a damn Subway. Note this is basically a hole in the wall style convenience mart with very limited seating and best suited for takeout, although you could get lucky as they so have two tables.

Have gone there twice now both times with big groups. Very accommodating, gave separate checks. The food was very good. Pasta was adente, not mushy like most places. Other time had salad with chicken. Husband had cod over angel hair, said it was good but could have been larger portion. Nice atmosphere!

My niece and her fiancé brought us here for dinner. Great atmosphere and the food was really good. We ordered appetizers and salads to share. We felt we had attentive service and left feeling very full.

Located just minutes off I-95 and several are hotels, Shellhammer's is a warm comfortable place to enjoy lunch, brunch or dinner. Happy Hour is always jumping with awesome everyday specials.
We were staying across the street from the mall and we were looking for good and reasonably priced meals for dinner. The desk clerk suggested shellhammers. He said it was great bang for the buck. Boy, he wasn't kidding. From the time we entered and...MoreThanks for taking the time to let us know about your visit, we really appreciate it! Look forward to seeing you again soon. Cheers!

Dinner with me, my wife, and my in-laws. This place is surprisingly nice for a strip mall restaurant. I had potstickers (ok), hot& sour soup (outstanding), tempura (mediocre at best - it was disappointing) and two pieces of tuna sushi and salmon sushi (they were the best). My wife has Celiac’s disease and has to eat Gluten Free. They had a good GF selection and fed her a good meal safely. My in-laws had sweet & sour chicken and pork. They seemed to enjoy it. Our server was outstanding. All the tempura was just fried food and needs to be improved. However this restaurant did a good job overall.
